My speaker just rip.. i like to know any subwoofer

it's an 8 ohm driver. It need to be VERY efficient, around 90-91db @ 1w. Measure the enclosure size LxWxH then divide by 1728. That will give you your cu. ft. internal airspace of the box. Then look for a driver that will effectively work in that space. Shouldn't be too expensive, paper cone, foam surround, 8ohm impedance. Hope this helps

No sound and smells like burning

There are a lot of folks who've had power supply issues with this sub. Typically, the large resistors fail, which takes out the capacitors.

If you know how to read schematics and replace parts, then these might be helpful to you:

Here are the two pages of schematics from KLH. I wrote to their techdepartment and explicitly asked for permission to share them here.

Here's the lower board, which has the power supply:

How do I connect this subwoofer to my reciever

The simplest way is to insert the sub into the speaker wire run -- connect your receiver's speaker output to the sub input, then the sub output to the speakers.

These are the "High Level" connectors on the left side of your sub.

If your receiver has a subwoofer out (either one or a stereo pair) then you'll get better quality sound by connecting that output to the "Low Level" connector or connectors on the right. If you have stereo, then use both connectors. If your receiver only has one subwoofer output, then connect it to the left (may or may not me marked as "mono" depending on the age of your sub)

Hopefully that helps. If it's confusing, post back questions or post the details (brand and model) for your receiver.

Schematic Diagrams for KLH ASW10-120

After acquiring a fried KLH ASW10-120, I write to the tech folks at KLH and they sent me the upper and lower board schematics. I asked if I could publish them online, and explicitly asked if I could share them on FixYa.com, and they gave me permission to do just that.

Burns [blows out the 50v bridge rect] on power up.

I'd suspect the 6800uF caps, but I don't know for sure.

If it helps, here are the schematics for the upper and lower boards:

Subwoofer interferance

Sounds like you've got a floating ground wire on your wall outlet, or you're plugging the sub into a different circuit from the receiver.
Make sure your sub and receiver are plugged in to the same circuit (ideally, the same outlet) and if you still have the problem then you need an electrician to test/fix your ground wiring.

Powered Subwoofer hits hard even on dialogue.

This sub doesn't have a gate (keep the sub from engaging when the source level is low) so it'll "hit" for any input signal. What it does have is an adjustable frequency low-pass filter. If it's kicking in for sounds that don't need big bass reinforcement, try turning the filter to a lower number. The sub will then only kick in for really deep sounds.

I have a klh asw120 subwoofer annd a pioneer

On the subwoofer's L&R input, you'll see a tiny "mono" next to the Left input. Hook up your receiver's single sub output to this jack and you're all set.

My klh subwoofer has R&L

Yes, you use a subwoofer cable and hook it into the mono rca jack in the back of the sub. or you can use a Y splitter 1 female to 2 males. or if your amp has 2 sub outputs (L&R) then use both. I do believe it's said that if you use the high level input, it's better. I forgot why...

Oh yeah. the difference between the 2 is a high level input allows the currant from the amp to pass through the sub, thus allowing the continuation of wattage to your other speakers.
Low level input is only taking a audio signal from the amp. No power is being sen through the connection.

Speaker light in the back turns on(green) but no sound

Well, I will try and help. If there was a problem with any of the innards, ie your amp. It's most likely that the red light would come on ar some horrible sound would be emitted from the woofer. reguardless if there was any input. But let's troubleshoot this anyways.

If you are using the low level input (RCA cable) try hooking it up to something else, if you can. This will determin if it is at all the sub or if it's your amp. Then try using the high input. This requires the speaker terminals in the back. If it works, then we know there is something wrong in the path of low level inputs. If it does not, then we know it has to do with either the connection terminal or something further inside.
You can open your amp and check the solder at all the pin contacts in and around the inputs. If they appear to look stable and sound (no breakage or cracks) start looking at the circuit boards for tall tale signs of anything burnt. If you know haw to use a multi-meter, I would suggest using it and start at one end and check everything. Even though they may not look damaged, a resistor can become bad. If the Capasitors are bad, there will most likely be some spillage coming from it. Becareful and unless you have done repair work before. Don't attempt to replace it. If you put it in wrong and get a reverse charge, it could/will explode.
Aside from that, I don't know what else to tell you. Hope it helps.

Klh subwoofer asw80-80

Unfortunatly it is due to the wiring within the house. Short of buying an apc back up which will regulate the power there is not a powerstrip that will stop this. I used to have the same problem
