I have an acer aspire m3400 is start but no sound, no display graphics plz help me.

Try another monitor. If that works, download the latest drivers for your OS here... http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers If the old monitor still doesn't work, here's some tricks I would try... 1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor. 2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor. 3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on. 4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works). 5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord. 6. If the power light is on and yellow or orange or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced. 7. Also, you could try your display on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.

Acer m3400 keeps saying select boot device put in a new hard drive and thried to reinstall from a win 7 system builder disc no joy same error what have I missed?

First, new hard drive must show up in BIOS. Verify. Then try setting CD\DVD (optical drive) as 1st boot option. You should get "Press any key..." on the screen to set up Windows. There is a bigger problem if you can't get to this point.

I would like to install a lightscribe drive , can it be put into the hot swop carrier space witch i don't use

Yes you can add the lightscribe drive to your system as long as you have an open pay (slot) to hold it. If you have a desktop tower, then most likely you have a slot available either right under or above the current dvd/cd drive. Just make sure your lightscribe drive has the same interface (SATA or IDE) as your current drive or you might need some cable adapters to make it work.If your system uses IDE (little metal prongs or pins where the cable plugs into the back of the dvd/cd drive) then you want to set the jumper pin on the back of the dvd drive to CS for cable select. If there is a cable ribbon going to the current drive it will have another connection open that you can use for the new drive. Normally the cable ribbon will allow you to piggy back the two drives.SATA is the latest technology so if your current drive is SATA, and your lightscribe is SATA then look at the two cables that go into the dvd drive already installed. There might be another set that is not being used that you can hook to the lightscribe drive. If so, hook the set to the back of the drive and into the slots on the motherboard.

Acer Aspire M3400 Desktop PC. Memory Upgrade Issue

please check the memory timing settings. if your mixing up ram they may not have the same memory timings and require you to go either higher or to the supported settings that either memory can use. for example if corsair runs at 8-8-8-14 and kingston runs at 10-10-10-16 then you will need to bump the settings to 10-10-10-16 since the computer is trying to set the timings for kingston to 8-8-8-14 which it does not support.
