How do I lighten the pictures?

Check your camera settings: White balance should be set to auto, ISO should be set to auto, flash should be set to auto, scene should be set to auto, Exposure Compensation should be set at 0. If images are still too dark change ISO setting to 200. If that doesn't work change to 400. If that still doesn't work change exposure compensation to +1. If your photos are still too dark your camera is defective.

How do I lighten the pictures? They are too dark.

And you did put the camera in automatic? and not in a scene mode, or something like that? I don't know if your camera has a setting like A, S, M or P, but you should not use these settings, unless you know what you want to achieve with that setting.

Download

You don't need any special software. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

The 7024 is designed primarily as a still camera, with limited video features grafted on. As such it captures images not sounds. You can add a soundtrack using video editing software on a computer, but you cannot record one on the camera.
