Won't give outside temperature

The typical unit has to be set to the same channel on the base unit and on the rremote unit, make sure your not out of range. Sometimes there is a button to send signal to the remote, try it with the units next to each other to see if that works so your not running back and forth, checking to see if it works.

3M Precision Digital Atomic Wall

After replacing the transmitter batteries several times, I tried replacing the clock batteries. They must have been getting low. Once I put in new batteries in the clock it worked fine. Good Luck.

How do I set time zone

My 86742 batteries took a dump after many years so I ended up with the same problem. It took me about an hour to figure it out, but here is the solution:

1) Pull the batteries and replace them, or gently insert a straightened paper clip into the "reset" hole in the back of the clock. The clock will beep.

2) Press the "receive" button" so the clock sets itself. The default time zone will be "EA".

3) Press the "adjust" button untill the time zone is showing (rather than the day-of-the-week).

4) Press and HOLD the "set" button down untill the hours digits start to flash.

5) Now press the "set" button again six times. The time zone characters will flash.

6) Press the "adjust" button untill your time zone appears.

7) Press the "mode" button to return the clock to normal operation.

8) Press the "adjust" button to display the day-of-week.

Do you think they could have made it any MORE complicated?

Outdoor temperature doesn't transmit below about 32 degrees.

I have one of these, and below freezing, the sensor is frozen.

Outdoor transmitting

These devices have a limited range, normally 20-30' (~6-9m) and that range is influenced by the material that separates them. Any metal structures in their path can shorten the useful range. Also, I think all of these transmit only a second or two every few minutes to conserve battery power.

Skyscan atomic clock receives time signal but is

You didn't tell us the model number but whatever it is, you should find instructions here:
Skyscan website
Our various 'atomic' clocks have either a menu that lets one select or a simple slide switch with US time zones from which to choose.
