Duplex Error When Trying to Print PDF

I found that one of the papers i was trying to print was set for double sided printing, well i don't have the duplex part of it. So I kept getting the error. You have to cancel all the print jobs thru the buttons on the printer. Doing it in your computer did not help and turning off the printer did not help me. So after I cancelled all docs from printing and turned off double sided printing it was fixed.

2300 dl

Actually 16H means the transfer belt is not working properly.  That is directly from the Minolta respresentative.  Although he tried to walk me through examining the transfer belt it still did not work.  Then when I called the authorized service companies I was discouraged that the diagnosis fee was $65.  They also guessed that a transfer belt repair would be at least $200.  This is when I figured to go for broke to clean out the machine myself.  The good news?  IT WORKED !!

Here are the step by step directions:

1.  Turn off the Minolta 2300.   Safety is always the first step.

2.  Open the panel door exposing the toner waste container and cartridge access area.

3.  Gently pry away the waste toner container from the printerr.  Be careful because it is full of toner powder that is waste and easily spills out of the two port holes  Go outside and dispose of the waste toner powder into a garbage bag.  Stand upwind incase the toner dust blows out.  KEEP THE CONTAINER!!

4.  When you return to the printer, put the waste toner container aside for assembly back into the printer later.

5.  Now to remove the two components of the printer.  There are two manual screws holding the transfer belt component securely. One is on the left upper part, one is on the right.  You may need a screw driver to get them loose.  Untighten them completely.  They will NOT come out.  They are designed to loosen, but stay attached to the transfer belt component.  That is a good thing so that you don't loose them!  Flip the large blue handle with the arrow upward.

6.  After you loosen the screws and flip the blue handle upward, look for a portuding squarish handle below the larger blue handle transfer belt component.  Look caredfully at the diagram on this little handle.  You must squeeze the level on the underside of this squarish handle to unlock it.  Once unlocked you carefully slide this part out.  It has a shiny green cylinder which you probably should not touch.  Put this whole component aside for later assembly back in.

7.  Now you are ready to pull out the transfer belt component.  You have already loosened the two screws as above, and you have removed the shiny green cylinder part as above, so not carefully slide out the larger transfer belt component about 2/3 of the way out.  At this point you should see a pale green plastic handle on the top of this part.  You can grab that handle to assist you to remove the part completely from the printer.  At the end of sliding the component outward you will need to carefully angle the part upward (the end closest to you goes higher) because there is a metal guide track at the upper most portion of the part which will prevent the part from disengagin from the track unless you angle the part upward at the very end of the slide.  Look at how the part feeds onto that track so that you can replicate that during re-assembly.

8.  Now examine the somewhat shiny plasticky belt.  Is it torn, is it damaged, etc.?  Mine was merely covered with a film of waste toner.  It looked dirty.  I took a tissue and wiped as much of the dirty toner off.  Then I took a vacuum cleaner and without touching the belt I vacuumed all I could.  Althought I didn't do the following (because I forgot to do it) I would recommend vacuuming inside the machine too before you re-assemble to parts.

9.  Now with everything out of the printer.... just put everything back... Bye.

10.  Just kidding.  For those who want the final steps:  Angle the transfer belt part upward (the end closest to you goes upward) and guide the part onto the metal guide track at the upper portion of the printer.   Slide the component in.

11.  Tighten the two hand-screws you had loosened earlier.

12.  Slide the shiny green cynliner component back in.  Make sure to squeeze the underside of that squarish handle at the final insertion because that permits the component to seat properly and lock in place.

13.  Flip the large blue handle back into the down position as before we started this process.

14.  Vacuum the two spots where the waste toner container port holes fit into.  ( I did this because if they are clogged, the waste toner builds up on the transfer belt and makes it excessively dirty.  That is probably one of the reasons we get the 16H fatal error message.)

14.  Put the waste toner container back into position, making sure the port holes line up where they should.

15.  Close the door.

16. Turn on the machine.

You may have to re-install the driver as I did because the IP address changed after I did all this. (I have the 2300DL which has network ability.)    Give me an email if this worked for you. [email protected]

Paper jam

take out all the paper from the loading tray, and press down on the inside of the tray 4 or 5 times, and put a sheet back in. There seems to be a physical irregularity with all 2300DL printers that causes this problem

Yellow error light is on,

Hi,

The orange LED indicates that there is an error on the printer. If you don't see the error message, can you observe the behavior of the LED light? does it blink? If it is blinking *rapidly, that could mean a fatal error. If it is blinking *slowly, it could be a problem on one of the paper trays. You might want to take out all the papers and then just put them back again. If it is blinking *normally, it could be that the waste toner is nearly full or the drum cartridge life has expired. If the LED is just steady ON, try to check the cover and see if it tightly seated.

* slow - 1 blink every 2 seconds * normal - 1 blink every 1 second * rapidly - 2 blinks every 1 second

There is a way to reset your printer, it's just we don't want to resort to that yet as this will revert your printer to factory default settings. and you will lose all your current printer settings.

Please post here if you need further help.

Hope this helps.

Can no t print ,in addition i have an error on

You will have to buy another Magenta toner cartridge from a reputable vendor and replace the old one. Make sure the cartridge you buy is not refurbished since most of the time they will not work.

My Magicolor 2300dl prints light (black and/or

This is caused by dirty laser optics. This is a common problem in this series as well as similar HP series color laser printers. You can try cleaned the laser optics **** glass from the cartridge side of the printer but almost always the problem is internal in the optics unit and this requires quite a bit of dis-assembly of the printer. All I can say is if you remove the toner and drum cartridges you will need to look for a thin strip of glass running from one side to the other. Use a cuetip cotton swab to clean the glass then re-install the cartridges. If your lucky this will eliminate or at least make it better. If not then you will need to have the printer serviced.
Good Luck and thank you for using Fixya.

Download software to my vista computer

The drivers for supported OS versions are here: http://printer.konicaminolta.com/support/current_printers/mc2300dl_sup.htm . Scroll to the bottom of the page for the 32-bit Vista. If you have the 64-bit version of Vista, the driver may work but it may not.

You can try the XP 64-bit driver and use the compatibility mode. (Download the driver, then right click on the exe in the folder. Choose Properties and then set the program to run as Compatible with WinXP in the compatibility tab. Then right click on the file again and choose Run As Administrator. Repeat this with the Setup file that is in the exe that you downloaded.)

I hope this helps.
