Konica Minolta magicolor 2400 Laser Printer - Page 9 Questions & Answers
It is printing after printing several pages
- It is probable that the drum can no longer hold the toner. You will have to replace the drum.
- It
is possible that the paper is causing the problem. If the paper absorbs
moisture, the toner will not print on the paper since it does not print
on moisture. Use fresh and dry paper. That will solve the problem. Make
sure you store your paper in a dry place.
Konica Minolta Magicolor 2400W -- Only Prints on Reboot!
I've had that problem before too, and found out that there were copies of the printer that had somehow installed themselves on my computer. All I needed to do was to choose to print with "konica minolta copy 1" instead of the one that I *thought* was installed and it worked. I then deleted the original printer and just stuck with the copy.
Only prints on computer restart!
Have you tried a different port?
This will identify if it is a USB issue, possible USB 1 or 2.
It sounds like an issue with your port and not the printer, do you have access to advanced settings on your computer for USB?
I submitted a request for information on this

Magicolor 2400W print fades on right side of page
Have you tried cleaning the leans at the bottom of the printer? Open the cover, pull out the drum. Under it is a long, narrow piece of glass. If it gets dusty or toner accumulates on it, it will cause streaks in the printing. If this is dirty, take a clean, soft cloth and very gently wipe it off.
COLOR TONERS ARE INSTALLED BUT KINOCA MINOLTA 2400
you can try ..to clean the small sensor chip (bottom right, looks like a small circuit board) and any other bits which look dirty and the printer tends to respond after a restart. While doing so go ahead and clean any other sensors that are visible as they tend to become coated also...the reader board...as well as removing the pc drum and all toners and clean the toner chip reader ....and Hope it helps!

Error light
What kind of error....blinking light which lights are blinking..or is it a code 17h or something like that.....please clarify for me. thank you....whytfang. In the mean time you might take all of the cartridges out and make sure they are in correctly and none are damaged...and then clean the circuit boards and the reading board under the cartridges, then reinstall them and turn the printer back on...if not fixed try again and take care with the reading board...it is delicate...and the chips should be blown clean with pressurized air...like the canned spray used to clean keyboards or other delicate computer components. Try this in the meantime and send me the other info...good luck.
Streaks and faded spots
I had the same problem. Your printer might be in 'envelope' mode. open the top of the printer and look towards the back. You should see two grey tabs with envelope symbols on them. make sure they're pushed down.
Try that
Blank spots on page
How far apart are the blank spaces? If they are around 2 inches apart down the page, then it sounds as if it is the drum

I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy
paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print
button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it
will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I
have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there
over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this
way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps.

Paper Feed errors on 2400W
It is a timing issue, mine does the same thing. Here is fix. Open top door, remove drum cartridge, look inside for pickup roller ( the one that is shaped like a half-moon) reach down there and rotate it towards the front of the printer and downward so the curve ends up being pointed down to the bottom of the printer. You should here a loud click, that is the cam being reset. The cam is to the left behind the 2 gears. remove any paper feed jam, reinstall drum and close the top lid. This should reset it back correctly. Do the above steps with paper in tray and the power left on. Do not reset the printer after resetting cam position. Also it might take a few attempts to get the timing reset right, so dont give up after 1 failed attempt. I have had to do it 10 times before to get the timing right. Just make sure the curved area points downward.
Error
The only way to reset the toner error is to replace the counter chip on the toner cartridge. These should go for about $10 a piece. Otherwise, you can set the engine to continue on error, and ignore the blinking light. Better yet, I put a piece of electrical tape over it. You can still read the status on the LED's, but not have your wife complain about it. Saves you $40.

Change your Paper type in the Paper Handling Menu. Is paper fed from tray 2 or tray 1? Either setting, the paper type can be changed using the control panel. Press the green button to enter the menus, then using the "down" arrow button, press until you notice the "Paper Handling Menu". You can change the setting from Rough Paper to Plain. I hope this helps.

Let it go through its checks. When you take the toner out, clean it, wipe off the chip (upper right) then snap it back in. It may stop with the yellow and it may continue through the other colors.
What I found, is that it is really the paper feed being out of sync. Keep with it, it will resolve itself.
Also, take out the drum and turn the paper feed forward till it clicks and realign your paper.
Toner will transfer to the transfer be
As I understand it from servicing laser printers, the toner is actually drawn statically to the paper from the drum by a charge on the belt. Toner is not supposed to be distributed to the belt. The fuser fuses the toner to the paper after the transfer. Can you access the fuser rollers to see if there is any sign of wear or damage they may be keeping the paper from entering it properly? The toner on the belt is probably excess from the paper not being pulled through and having the toner fused properly.
