Touch screen not working on top inch or so.
Connect it to a computer and download and install newer or alternate software. There are factory resets on most which is typically done by powering off then holding both the power and volume button (can be either up or down).
Try holding a combination of home and power or volume and power for up to 2 minutes on some devices.
On some devices this puts them in down - load mode and it will need the new rom or flash software which can then be flashed to this device, some devices will at this point give you the option to factory reset, keeping in mind that all saved data will be lost at this point.
If you flash the device with the wrong rim you may turn the device into a paperweight or otherwise known as Bricking"
Most times a device will need to be rooted prior to installing anything other than the factory Rom.
Try searching YouTube on how to root or factory reset your mobile, android, or Apple, RIM (blackberry) devices.
Also is how to upgrade to a better android operating system but caution here as it's a critical process that needs to be done correctly and without interruption so a lot of study will be necessary for the novice and be prepared to need further solutions to newer problems that may arise from err or lack of knowledge on the precise procedures.
IP Address unavailable/ cannot hook up to internet
Has it been rooted?
The equivelent of a an ipad/iphone jailbreak?
You can check this by doing one of two things.
The first is by going into settings, scrolling down to the bottom and clicking on About Tablet.
If not that then go to Settings/Device and then click About Tablet.
The second, and easiest, is to check to see if you have an app called SuperUser (SU).
If you do then your device is rooted.
Other ways to check, which is more dificult because of you not being able to get WiFi access, is by downloading an app called Root Checker or a Terminal app.
Root checker is self explanitory as it does exactly what it says on the tin.
It will check to see if you have root access to your device and will tell you either way.
The terminal app will show a hash tag symbol (#) as soon as it is started.
This is also an indicator of root access.
Have a look in the WiFi/network settings for your device and see if it has been set up to use a proxy or VPN.
If it has then clear these settings and try to enable the WiFi again.
If this doesn't work then i would restore the device back to factory settings as it could be a software issue.
Failing that you could always upgrade the firmware to the new 4.4 KitKat which, if your device is rooted, will wipe root access out.
The tablet wont charge
I have a Pandigital Google Android Planet 7" touchscreen tablet with andoid 2.2 os 2Gb.The glass under the screen broke can it be the place?
Wifi doesn't always work... works at home but not
Not so wierd.. sometimes you have to have the correct settings to connect to a secured network. Is your phone and computer connecting via wi fi or on a 3g connection? Your tablet connects with wi fi and may not have the premission or even signal to reach your workplace network. I would first make sure you dont need a special setting like VPN or a proxy to gain acess to you work place network. I would contact the IT dept for assistance before you continue to take up your time trying to fig it out. IT dept dont like it when they have un known devices connecting to secured networks and it will save u time and them too if u ask for assistance. If your supposed to use a personal computer then they will gladly help. If not then u got ur question awnseredGOOD LUCKChad Man
I cannot get on my wifi it tells me security
Greetings... Im not sure what is giving you the security warning message? Is it your INTERNET Wireless gateway or is it the Tablet ? If u go into the Settings tab..then down to wireless on right side of screen is a scan icon. If u run the scan do u see your wireless connection? IF not u need to have the SSID for ur wireless device. Then make sure u have the correct password and premission to access this device. Then be sure to make sure the airplane and VPN settings under your wireless settings are correct. If your trying to connect to wireless while in USB connection to a computer.. sometimes the DEBUG mode can cause errors too. If this fails try resetting the tablet with the port on back and your wireless device to. If still have problems repost to this post and ill follow it and see if we can get u fixChad Man
Tablet won't stay powered with out being plugged
I have seen this several times now. It is usally do to 1 or 2 things that you can try to resolve this. The first issue is that these tablets are very battery eaters and you need to charge it for atleast 24hrs with power cable before you activate it. The USB cable will only keep the tablet charged if u have a good 50precent charge in it first. I have had the WI FI discharge a full battery in 2hrs plug in to the usb. The power adpter needs to be used when u can or it will discharge the batt unless u power down the unit not just let it go to sleep. Go to the settings tab..then to battery..and u can see what the rate of discharge is ..ie..wifi and wallpaper and idle all can be adjusted to max battery life and make sure you turn it off when u can. Hope this helps.Chad Man
