Sounds like the tv is on standby, and needs to be switched on after via the remote control.

The flyback transformer to your TV has the fault. Contact any expereinced service technician to get it repaired. Picture tube faulure is very very rare.

Hi Eric,First of all, thank you for contacting Fixya.com regarding on your TV problem.I've suspected a convergence chips failure not the power supply board issue in this kind of symptoms. To confirm it, locate the convergence board inside the set, it has a Sanyo convergence chip STK392-110 that are mounted on the large heat sink. This board has a LED (light emitting diode) that will light up once the board gone to malfunction. Turn on the unit and then check if the LED will lit after the shuts down. If yes, then I would advice you to replaced both convergence Chips and check the resistance of the resistors in line with the +25V and -20V supply of the chips.Let me know if the LED at the convergence board does not lit to continue our diagnosis... Check also the LED at the power supply board and on the deflection board(this is where the flyback transformer is located)Have a nice day!Goodluck and take care!Kind Regards,Jdvillanueva

your tv's hardware might got the problem. this should fix with an expert technician that they have a tools for fixing this problem. if repairing will cost you alot then i suggest that you have to buy a new tv insted of repairing your old tv. hope that helps!

Ur video ic converter board it dead.
Need a new board.

resolution is 1000

1) Unplug wire harnesses = pull chassis ( requires 2 chassis bolt
removal)
2) Dis-mount Convergence / power supply board = the one with
large heatsink
3) Locate 5 volt regulators mounted to heatsink
4) Remove old solder from pins of all four regulators =
Re-solder + solder any / all bad conncts on board....
5) Replace bad 4 amp fuse hidden in power supply area...
6) Reassemble

We are having the same problem of the Pioneer Elite Pro-99 turning itself off all of a sudden. The red 'non' power button comes on as if we had turned it off remotely.
We would love to resolve this. If you can help let us know.

hello. it might be as simple as a magnetic field near your tv.if you have any large metal things or speakers on top or next to yourtv try moving them about a foot away from the tv and see if that helps

Sounds like convergence outputs. Possibly some biasing resistors.
