My Poineer SD-P5795W television is

Hello there,
When your television refuses to turn on and all you have is the standby light or the green light turning on and then going off in few seconds, that is a sign that there is a problem inside of the unit.
When the television gives off signs as this,it could be as a result of one or more factors going bad inside the unit of the television.
The factors that could cause the problem is eithere there is a bad capacitor on the main board or the power control board(PCB). Or the lamp is bad. It could be one of the two facotrs or both, therefore, this will result in you running a check on these factors.
To test and replace the bad capacitor, you will be in need of a screw driver, soldering iron, desoldering braid, soldering wire and replacement capacitors. Unplug the television, turn to the back, unscrew the screws that hold the back cover off the television, then you lift up the power control board and assess it for any capacitors that looks shrinked, swollen or burnt out. Once it is detected, trace it to the back of the board, then you desolder it off the board, get exctly that type of capacitor and fix into the board and solder it back on using the soldering iron and soldering wire. Please be very careful about it, in order for you not to create a bridge.
Do the same for the main board of the television, the main board is usually clipped onto the frame of the television.
For the lamp, you will have to reach out for your user manual, as am not keen with the location of where the lamp of your model is located, but once you locate it, have it checked and replaced with a new one.
That should solve the problem for you. If you are not familiar with such technical/electrical fix, i will suggest you get someone who is familiar with such to handle the fix, because televisions are well known to store current over time.

Pioneer SDP5795W has been moved one too many

Separate IC's can only be found at hobby /electronics shops, they are no longer sold by Pioneer as replacement parts - take them out, read their codes and get identical replacements.
An entire board - very expensive - can be found here

It sounds like you have something blocking the light path from the lamp. Unplug the unit and remove the back. Remove several screws to allow the light engine to be pulled back. You may need to remove some cables to get the engine out enough to work on it. If so mark the cables and plugs for proper reassembly. Remove the lamp and look into the engine to see if anything is blocking the light path. Perhaps a label fell into the path. Remove the top cover of the color wheel and check for something inside. Remove the top half of the back with the mirror, being careful not to break anything, and look for problems. Check the rear of the screen for any problems. This would be a good time to clean the screen and mirror. Use a lint free cloth and window cleaner. Spray the cloth with the cleaner not the screen. You should find something in the light path. If you do not then the lower 3/4 of the tft panels are bad or are not getting a signal. If that is the case you would have to replace the light engine. They cost anywhere from $300 to $400. Check www.encompass.com for prices. Hopefully you will find something in the light path and solve the problem. Let me know how you make out.

Power Supply part problem with a SD-P5795W

I wouldn't trust anything this repairman said reason well for one thing how could he (or anyone) tell everything else is "in perfect condition" when he couldn't "see" anything to tell what it looked like. He might be right about the power supply being bad But it could also be the high voltage "power supply" could have a short and that would cause the symptions you describe
But if you want to try the power supply your self you can call Pioneer and give them the model number and they should be able to get the information you need.

There's no picture when the unit is turned on.

You probably have no high voltage as this model has no lamps in it. It has 3 CRT's which require 30 KV to light up. I suggest having a technician look at the TV for you as 30KV is nothing to play around with.

TV doesn't have the colour red... just blue and green

This site has a manual that may specify the type of lamp. The manual costs something, with no guarantee you'll find what you want.
http://www.manualuniverse.com/manager/products/catalogue.asp
Select brand "Pioneer" and enter the model "SDP5795W" then click Find; on the next page click on the model number SDP5795W to go through to the page that lists the manuals. One is a service/repair manual that I expect would have information about the lamp or bulbs.

The TV is more than 10 years old, and with "planned obsolescence" it may be hard to even get lamps now. All the very best of luck.

Pioneer SD P5071-K has a dark picture, though, a good one.

You didn't mention if this problem suddenly happened or has been getting dimmer over time. If it's the latter, it could be a heavy buildup of dust/soot/smoke (depending if there are smokers in the house or a wood stove, etc) or the picture tubes going bad. If the set is over 9 years old, I'd replace it with a HDTV set and not look back. If the problem occurred suddendly, then a resistor or some other component may have gone out and it again would not likely be a cheap or easy repair.

Need help

A power supply is a very complex circuit that changes the voltage that comes from an outlet to voltages the tv can use and is a circuit that need to be repaired because in Tv's is only a section of a circuit board and the rest of the board has other functions. Computers use a single module that you can replace as a whole but not tv's.Be safe an call a qualified technician because there is danger involved.Get an estimate.

It the power LED is blinking, they are coded and are in fact called Blink Codes. They tell what is wrong with the set. It won't come back on until you fix the issue. Pioneer PDP 507XDA 50-inch plasma TV. Sound but no picture. SOME CHANNELS WORK BUT OTHERS IS SCREEN SAVER WITH CHANNEL AUDIO.

Question edited for clarity. Great question Madeleine. The ones with Screen Saver and Audio are in Preview Mode. If you want to watch them, you have to subscribe. It is a tactic to get you hooked and get you to pay. Sometimes they will give you a couple of minutes of video and audio at the beginning of a programme. It isn't a television issue, it is your cable provider and a sales technique. ..

My pioneer 50" plasma tv #PDP 5071 PU won t stay on and the blue ON lite keeps blinking 8 x over and over. Is it dead? Did Comcast update fry it? It started yesterday. I tried unplugging it.

Sorry you're having problems. Offhand the 8 blink code on a Pioneer Plasma translates to an internal communication failure in the TV and generally requires repairs. However it's worth it to try a hard reset, as sometimes the processor in the TV can simply have locked up. The first thing you would try, is disconnect the set from power, then press and hold the power button on the TV itself (not the remote), for 10 seconds and release. Then plug the set back in, and also check that the power cord is connected tight at the TV as well. Press power once, and see if the set powers up normally.

My pioneer amp 820w blinking blue why?

The blue blinking light on your Pioneer amp could indicate a number of issues. One possible reason is that the amp is in "standby" mode, which means that it is not currently receiving any audio signals. Another possibility is that the amp is experiencing an error or malfunction. To get a better understanding of the issue, I would recommend checking the user manual for your Pioneer amp. If you don't have the manual, you can try searching for it online using the model number of your amp. You can also try resetting the amp by unplugging it from the power source for a few minutes and then plugging it back in. If the problem persists, it may be time to take your amp to a professional for repair.
