I'd like to know where the vcr cable & cable wire from wall

(I own 2 VSX-D903S Units.) There are NO optical (Toslink) or coaxial connections for Satellite or Cable-TV on this Pioneer unit. The coaxial connector on the receiver is for connection to an external antenna for FM Tuner (radio) reception only. Your cable line from the wall would go to your Cable Box, or a "cable-ready" TV or VCR. You would then connect the composite (YLR) or S-video output A/V (S+LR) connection to the VCR 1 input on the back of the receiver. Connect your TV L/R audio and S-video or Composite video output to the TV in connection on the Receiver. (Connect the Composite TV-out connection to a composite video-in connection on the TV.)

How do i connect a sub wooferto my reciever

I own 2 of these Pioneer VSX-D903S units. The only way to hook a powered subwoofer up to a VSX-D903S is if your subwoofer is equipped with amplified/speaker level terminals on the back, in addition to the line-level input. If you only have a line-level input, do not attempt to hook it up to this receiver. If you're lucky, and have speaker-level inputs on your powered subwoofer, you would use the amplified terminals (connect to B-channel on the receiver). DO NOT connect anything to the line-level connection. Alternatively, you could build two unpowered subwoofers, then set the receiver's Impedance switch to LOW, then connect one enclosure to each of the "B-channel" outputs. Connect your regular left and right speakers to their corresponding "A-channel" outputs. [Impedance range: 4 Ohm minimum, 16 Ohm Maximum]

Is it possible to hook up a powered subwoofer to

I own 2 of these Pioneer VSX-D903S units. The only way to hook a powered subwoofer up to a VSXD903S is if your subwoofer is equipped with amplified/speaker level terminals on the back, in addition to the line-level input. If you only have a line-level input, do not attempt to hook it up to this receiver. If you're lucky, and have speaker-level inputs on your powered subwoofer, you would use the amplified terminals (connect to B-channel on the receiver). [Impedance range: 4 Ohm minimum, 16 Ohm Maximum] (To the guy [dunnbiker] that says there's no rear channels: You're wrong.) The VSX-D903S has 2 stereo (A/B) channels, dual center channel (place center speakers to the left and right, or above and below the screen), and two rear satellite channels. It is a 3-Ch Logic/Dolby Pro-Logic Surround equipped receiver, not a DolbyDigital/DTS multichannel x.1 surround unit.

Pioneer VSX D903S ...HOW do i adjust the rear

You make surround channel adjustments using the on-screen GUI interface. This can be done either by using the remote (recommended), or by using the appropriate controls on the receiver. [The GUI mode is active when the GUI button and the ring surrounding the Multi-Jog dial is glowing amber.]

Radio tuning

PIONEER VSX-D903S - A/V Receiver PIONEER CU-VSX079 - Remote Here's the basics: Make sure your receiver is in the Tuner mode, by selecting Tuner on either the remote (grey button), on the receiver, or from the GUI menu. (The display will also show TUNER.) There are a couple of different ways to tune a station. One method is with the remote. Use the Band button on the remote (or via the GUI display), or the FM/AM button on the receiver, to select the frequency type. Use the Freq/Ch buttons on the remote to tune, the number buttons for presets (30 presets total. Examples: Preset 5, simply press 5; Preset 15, enter 5-5; Preset 25, enter 5-5-5). You can also use the on-screen GUI menu and the remote to tune stations, using the lower grey buttons. If you want to tune directly, via the receiver, press Select, to switch between frequency tuning and presets (displays ST CALL) mode. Use the Multi-Jog dial to make your selection in either mode. The easiest way to program a station into a preset is to use the onscreen GUI menu. [NOTE: The GUI mode (TV Monitor Video Out, composite video) is active when an amber (orange) ring glows around the Multi-Jog dial (the GUI button on the receiver will also glow simultaneously). Use the remote lower grey buttons, or use the Multi-Jog dial and Select, to move the cursor and select commands on the TV. This A/V Receiver handles composite video/S-video, and Stereo/Dolby 3-Channel/Dolby Pro-Logic audio only. (Pre-ATSC/HD video, Pre-Dolby Digital/DTS multi-channel surround audio)]

The phono works, but i get no sound when tuner on

This usually means that the tuner is not getting sufficient reception for the station you are trying to listen to.

Receivers come with cheap wire loop antennas try upgrading to a powered FM antenna available online or at your local Radio Shack.

Hope that helps

Have a pioneer VSX-D603S and just added bose 100

What model of Bose, how connected on what channels? Do you know the impedance? If they came from one of their all-in-one systems you're playing with fire (almost literally) mixing them with non-Bose amplifiers.

My reciever has no display and no sound

Hello

Before giving a detailed explanation on everything which might be wrong, just start by opening up the receiver and check the fuse inside the unit.
If it is still good, feel free to leave a comment and i will come back to you. If it is the fuse(Which i think it is), i am glad to help you.

Kind regards
Andrea

The left channel on our Pioneer VSX-D409 is weak. Some sound is coming through, but very little. We have double checked the wire and the connection in back. Everything there is kosher. Any ideas?

Check the balance control. Apart from that the unit will have to be checked internally to ascertain where the signal is breaking down. This will require some skill and some equipment. My guess is it will be a dry solder joint or a dried out capacitor. If a capacitor looks 'leaky' or swollen, it is a good bet it is outside its tolerance and should be replaced. Sorry couldn't be any better help. Good luck.
