Freezer is around 3 years
In my opinion, since your going for the fast freeze mode, your freezer sets to its lowest operating temperature to fast tract the freezing process.
and about the noisy clicking sound it is probably a thermostat or relays depending on your system which starts and stop the compressor.
i think your freezer is just doing fine.

S20drss10 has started to make clicking noise on
It sounds to me like it is the rear brd failing..this brd runs basically yhe whole show and the sound you are hearing is probably 1 of the relays starting to stick on the brd. They are very easy to replace although dependant on which one you required the prices range from £80 to £200. The other problem it could be is the icemaker if you have one. There is a solonoid in the rear behing the bucket that changes the ice from crushed to blocks this can sometimes overheat and activate on it's own causing this noise. easily repalced and only costs a few pounds. Let me know and i'll give you some better instructions on what to do.

How long should it take for a 18 cu ft. chest type
From room temperature if just plugged in rule of thumb is 24hrs to properly reach temp. Place a glass half full of water in shelf when is frozen solid the unit should be plenty cold enough to keep food. It is always a good idea to get a small fridge thermometer to make sure of temp.

I have a model ED2CHQXKB05,
What you are describing is the normal sounds it makes when it goes into defrost. The frost melts, and the resulting water will fall onto the heater which then makes your hissing noise. You dont mention that there is a problem, such as not cold or water leaking on your floor, so it sounds like all is working as it should. But you also mention you taped IT ( what is it?) to the wall in a circle.

Hello! I have a
Hi! Yes, it surely is clogged. Dirt build up inside the tube is possible and the only thing that can resolve this is by draining the tube by cleaning. You will need an experience techinician to resolve this for this requires a hands on fixing. It will require a vacuum for freezer and other stuffs for cleaning the freezer. Hope this helps and thank you for using Fixya!

Just open the chest freezer
Go buy some charcoal and call some friends.... Sorry. Transfer as much as possible to neighbors freezers. If that's not possible keep the freezer as full as possible. Solids hold their cold much better than air.
Could be many things. Remove the thermostat control and cross the wires. did it go on? Replace the thermostat.
Take a multi-testor and check for power at the motor/ compressor. If yes- the compressor motor is bad. Probably fatal for the unit. If not- why is there no power? Follow the supply wires back up line until you find power. replace the part that has failed.
Good luck

I don't have the model
Well, its good that it is still cooling, however since you cannot adjust the temps, you do still have a problem, and one that may include the unit fails to cool properly.

Fridge freezer stopped making ice digital display
I have seen this a few times on whirlpool refrigerators. There is likely a high voltage board mounted inside a grey or white box mounted next to the compressor. The noise is usually eminating from this box, and replacing the board will solve all of your problems most likely.

Water freezing in bottom of
The defrost drain outlet is stopped up and freezing over.
Remove the bottom basket.
Turn the freezer off.
Look in the center of the freezer just below the cooling coils in the bottom of the freezer.
You will see a water drain trough.
It will be full of ice.
Use a hair dryer to thaw the ice and remove it.
The drain will become exposed.
It must be thawed also,so that you can pour water through it and the water goes all the way to the drain pan underneath.
