Internet explorer crashes

If Internet Explorer is crashing , your dilema likely lies with a buggy browser add-on. However, Internet Explorer crashes can have a alot of other causes, including incompatibilities with hardware rendering and possible malware. crashes are often cause by buggy add ons. you can check to see if that is the problem by running internet explorer with out add ons To do so, open the Start menu and launch the All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons) shortcut. If running Internet Explorer with no browser add-ons fixed your problem, you can disable the add-ons one by one to identify the one causing the problem. Click the gear menu and select Manage add-ons to open the Manage Add-ons window. Select an add-on in the Toolbars and Extensions category and click the Disable button to disable it. Disable add-ons one by one - or disable them all and enable them one by one - until you identify the add-on causing the problem. malware can often be a problem with applications crashing especially for an browser like IE. so scan your system with antivirus software for sure.

Screen on side

You can use the desktop toolbar on your computer to help you navigate around your computer, gaining access to programs and files. You may have previously moved the toolbar to the side of your desktop intentionally or accidentally. You can move the toolbar back to its original position at the bottom of the screen and lock it in place to prevent it from being accidentally moved in the future. Right-click on the toolbar at the side of your desktop with your mouse. Locate the "Lock the toolbar" option in the drop-down menu. If it has a tick next to it, this means it is secured in place. Left-click on the button with your mouse to unlock the toolbar. Left-click on the toolbar, and drag it to the bottom of the screen. Right-click on the toolbar, and select "Lock the toolbar" to fix the toolbar in place at the bottom of the screen. Hope this helps.

I want Google to be my search engine when I click

Firefox didn't make it very easy to change your search provider, but you can do it. Here's how:
  1. In the address bar, enter "about:config" (not with the quotes).
  2. You'll see a warning screen; click on the "I'll be careful" button.
  3. Enter "keyword.URL" in the filter string box.
  4. Double-click the current value for keyword.URL, and in the box that opens, enter "http://www.google.com/search?&q=" and click OK.
This will make Google your default search provider. You can also click on the search provider icon at the left end of the search bar and pick Google from the drop-down list.
Thanks for using Fixya!
