Pioneer VSX-D411 receiver "Amp Error" message

Hello,
Unfortunatelly your receiver has failed. The front panel is telling you one of the power modules is probably bad. Not an DIY type of repair. These parts are near $40.00, plus cost of replacing.
Look at options to replace your trusted receiver with a new one.
Good luck

Only surrond works 0n stero reiever front a and b doesnt

Verify the main speakers are not blown or cables damaged or disconnected. If you have an ohmmeter, set it to ohms and measure across the speakers with no cables connected. You should see 3-9 ohms. Anything higher will indicate problems in the speaker(S). Get them reconed or replace defective speakers. If the speakers test ok, remove the cables from the amp and speakers. Test your speaker cables by shorting both wires together on one end of the first cable. Connect the ohmmeter, set to ohms, to each wire on the opposite end. You should see near 0 or maybe 1 ohm. If not, the cable is open. Do the same with the other cable. If these tests all pass, you have a more serious problem in the amp. You will have to take it to a reputable shop. Good luck!

Receiver is cutting on and off by itself

It is the power control relay that do the cutting OFF and turning On.these relay is driven by a processor via transistor output. • One will have to check circuits that accompanies with it. • Have a plan , prepare tools and equipments should you need to DIY. • While having a plan, disconnect all speakers and reconnect laterone at a time if it turns On properly without the speakers.

When powered on "amp error" displayed then shuts

Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'nekkid'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections at the speaker as another possible root cause for intermittent shutdown.

I have a Pioneer VSX-D411 and there is dsp ng

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Pioneer-VSX-D411-Receivers-manual/id/385ci976/t/2/

I believe it's trying to tell you something is wrong with its digital sound processing.

This was the best source I could find on it:
http://www.avforums.com/forums/av-amplifiers-receivers/381823-problem-pio-vsx811s-no-sound-display-says-dsp-ng.html

If you switch it to satereo / direct and the light goes out I'd say that would clinch it.

The SIGNAL: ANALOG won't disappear

It will change automatically once it detects a suitable digital signal.

So yes it could actually be faulty but more likely you aren't sending a suitable format digital signal from the source. check the digital audio output settings on whatever device you are using
old dvd players will output PCM 2 channel digital or bitstream multichannel (dolby dig or DTS) which your unit can handle whilst new blurays will have some very hi bit rates -eg192khz 24bit. You may need to lower the output in the menus to get the Pioneer to accept them.

It is always possible the optic has got kinked or fractured, which causes light scattering/corruption and will cause the same symptom

After unit is on for about 15 minutes it clicks

It seems like some component(s) become over heated by the time. It could be caused by either some faulty component(I guess Capacitor or Transistor in which case they must be replaced) or bad heat transfer(radiator, mounted on power transistors) that must be resoldered and/or screws/clips must be tightened.

Good luck
