Make sure you have the correct drivers installed on your computer. A webcam wont run if the computer does not recognize it.

I don't think its your webcam that is at fault. I think it's already in skype. I have the same Lenovo model and there are times skype doesn't transmit video. So, I usually do is turn on and turn off the skype video call for the video to reappear. Can you do the following:

1) Make sure you have adequate lighting. Sometimes if you are in a dark room, skype will also transmit black videos to the other end.

2) Have you checked the video settings in skype? Go to Tools->Options. Click video settings. Click webcam settings and try to tweak your video from there.

This is an issue with your whole system. The cam catches the picture then has to transmit it to your pc. Your pc then has to process the image and display it. The main bottleneck is the method of transfer of the data, mostly through the USB bus but depending on the age and spped of your PC, that could also be slowing things down.. You may be able to upgrade your pc with more memory and a faster cpu but in the end, you are still ruled by bus data transfer rates etc..
The bottom line is that you may have to live with the delay.

You need to use a video email service. A free one that I like is mailVU.com, which allows 10 minute webcam recording.

try using the webcam using some other software. If u r able to hear the recorded voive then the issue is with the cyberlink software else the issue is with the webcam.

Download a network camera software to make possible recognising a connection on the computer. if any damages are on the device would not function. The device could require driver updates.
