The new HDD uses a SATA data interface as well as a SATA power interface. You will need a SATA cable as well as a power supply that supports the SATA power connectors. Since this is an older machine you will probably need to buy a SATA cable and a Molex to SATA power connector. This should cover any cabling issues that you are having.

Hello, Although I changed the CMOS battery and

This error is not the same as a CMOS Checksum Error, which refers to corrupted values of the CMOS settings, the ones you set through the BIOS setup program. This error means the contents of the BIOS code itself are damaged.
http://majorgeeks.com/BIOS_Patcher_d3965.html

Find and fix errors in your system BIOS BIOS Patcher can find and fix errors in your system BIOS (only AWARD BIOS for now) and also it can add or open new features, i.e. some features that your BIOS has but they are closed by manufacturer of your motherboard. It scans rom file. If it finds any known errors it fixes the errors. If it finds any closed features it opens it. hope this helps

Hello, when I put my pc

The Checksum error basically shows that boot settings which were previously set has been changed or reset. This usually happens when the battery loses its charge and thus fail to retain the CMOS settings. This can also be caused by a power surge or a damaged motherboard. But most of the times it would be the battery problem.

You can try replacing the CMOS battery and enter the values back into CMOS or reset values to default. Then switch off and boot up again.
Hope this works. Good Luck. ~SmokinJoe~

Is it possible to run vista aero on EliteGroup km400-m2?

Vista Aero is dependent on your Graphics hardware, not on your motherboard. The onboard VIA/S3G is not going to be capable of running Aero, but you do have an AGP 8x port that you could buy a card for. Try picking up an ATI 48xx series card if you plan on doing some gaming. If you just want to run Aero, however, just about any card nVidia 76xx series, 86xx, 96xx, or any ATI 26xx, 36xx, or 46xx series card will do.

Short burst of power

Most likely you have a bad power supply, or a short or overload that causes the power supply to shut down. You will need a DVM (digital volt-ohm-meter). Using the DVM and the instructions on the PS, unplug all PCI boards and all wires on the HD's. There should be a point where the PS will not shut down. Then you will have to install all the connections one by one, until the PS shuts down. You will have to turn off the computer for each of the connects and each of the re-connects or you are exposing your computer to a great danger. CONSTANTIN (arzconst)
