We'd need more information to be able to help here, has Windows been recently reinstalled on the computer? Pull cmos cell from motherbord for 15 minutes.
Then boot your computer with windows disk then delete all partition of harddisk and then sreate again then format 1 drive and install windows xp.

Open Control Panel - Sound and Audio devices - check the sound volume, move to high if required and Mute is not selected.Next click on Sound tab and select a Windows and click on the play button, if the play button is greyed out then the audio driver is either not installed or not working. In this case install your model audio driver.

Click Users
Change the password.
