I have found many possible causes. Firmware Levels Outdated firmware in routers, VOIP phones, Firewalls, etc. can cause one-way audio. Ensure you have the latest updates for all the devices in the call path. Configuration Particularly if NAT is involved in the call path, configuration of the various devices may be a problem. Check to see if all devices are configured appropiately for your envioronment. Has anything changed, carriers harware, quos settings on router ? packet loss to these locations should be tested @ time it happens most, don't use it as gospel retur, ttl and re-xmits' do same.. Bob Finding the Cause The basic troubleshooting technique is to use a tool like Ethereal to capture SIP and RTP packets at each point in the call path where packets could be lost. Interperting the resulting captured packets requires some familarity with how networking and VOIP work. For example if the call path is: VOIP phone/device ---- firewall ---- sip proxy ---- firewall ---- asterisk Troubleshooting Steps Start capturing at point Make a VOIP call that will have one-way audio Analyze capture If problem found, fix and retest Otherwise move capture point to the next point (a, b, c, d, etc) and start over If the problem is intermittent, then a long term simultanous capture at multiple points can be used to attempt to capture a comple call with the problem. Most capture tools will let you capture only traffic from selected devices, so the volume of captured information can be kept to a reasonable size. If a back-to-back SIP user agent (for example a Session Border Controller ) is part of of the call path, then it may be necessary to capture all VOIP traffic at some points to ensure catching the wanted call since the IP addresses can change when traversing this device. Hi,

Nortel will have a phone number that you can dial from any other phone to retrieve your messages.

Nortel Computers... | Answered on Jul 07, 2018

Remember to hit "Feature" first. Dialing **7827887 by itself does nothing.
EG;
1 - Feature **7827887 (STARTUP)
2 - Enter installer password 266344 (CONFIG)
3 - Change to template desired (square, hybrid, or PBX)
4 - Press NEXT to apply the template

Edit: Make sure you have access to the phone pool as admin and that there are no restrictions set on the phone itself. The same thing was happening to others and was detailed here

Enter the admin mailbox (usually FEATURE 981). Follow the prompts to enter the mailbox change menu for the box you need to reset and select the "reset password" function. This unlocks the box and sets the password to 0000, which will then prompt the user to enter a new password when the mailbox is opened.

There is a call back feature in the system. Sometimes when you receive an internal call from another extension and you are on another call the caller will hit callback. You actually have to return the call to that extension to stop the light from flashing.

Hi
I have found a manual here which gives information regarding key codes and serial numbers on Page 66. It can be downloaded and saved in pdf format from here:
http://data.manualslib.com/pdf2/31/3005/300494-nortel/callpilot.pdf?bc5faed6f2944386bbe43827bb387143

I have not found anything regarding serial numbers and Country of Origin, although I expect that a Nortel engineer would have such a reference, I just can't find it in the public domain - Sorry.
Hope this is of some help even if not as complete as I would prefer, if so would you please register that with Fixya
Cheers
