Is charger working properly? We've had to replace it twice! Seems like a poor cable connector failure.

Reset your Kindle.

There's a little hole inside the battery cover area. Put in a pin or paperclip end and press. The Kindle should unlock.

did you try the reset button ,it a very small hole that you can stick a pencil en ,try that if not go in and do a complete reset to factory .This is done by going under privacy

Try pressing and holding the power button for 20 sec. This should give you the reboot screen. You may have to press the power button normally one more time.If that does not work, try charging, with AC adapter or USB port. The yellow charge light at the base should be on. Charge until this is green.

You can charge it by using the cable that came with your Kindle (or another micro-USB to USB cable). Just plug the small connector into the bottom of your Kindle and the larger end into a USB port on your laptop while your laptop is on.

The only way is to use the experimental browser- at the home screen, press "Menu". Then press "Experimental", followed by "Browser". Then, type your email client. However- email (and the whole browser, really) is sluggish and slow on the Kindle. It is much easier to just check it on a computer, or any other wireless device.

Hold the power button to the right for 30 seconds. (Time them- not "One thousand one, one thousand two, ect." because this isn't precise enough.) This will reboot the Kindle and it should work. The reboot may take a while if it has been a long time since your last reboot.

There is no specific email client on the Kindle so you can only receive your emails via the experimental web browser and using a web mail service to access your mail.
