I have a 433MHz cable
You have to push some buttons to tell the MAIN unit to scan, then put battery into the REMOTE, set channel, and hit reset through a little hole. And the MAIN should see it.

Model RAR188A Tried to change battery on remote
Both the remote and base units have a very small hole near the battery spot, less than 1/8" in diameter. Push something smaller than the hole into it, like the end of an unbent paper clip. The base unit, at least, will give a tiny beep and it will have reset. The remote may not beep, but also will be reset.

My oregon scientific indoor outdoor weather
I had the same problem, Since the outside temp wouldn't read, I figured it was the outside unit batteries. Went through half a dozen AAA batteries and wouldn't read. It was the indoor unit. Had the same bats I installed 3 years ago. DUH! Replaced the AAA, and all was well. When the inside batteries die out, it has just enough juice to read indoor temp, but not enought to sense exterior signal.

I have model RMR682--Want to disable the Alarm--Please advise
The ice warning is normally only on channel 1. Just set wireless sensor to channel 2 or 3, then select that same channel to display on the base unit.If you don't ever want to use the ice warning feature, then use channel 1 for a sensor that's situated indoors, then hope you never hear it!!!Lee
