Hey guys i have a very serious problem, when ever i start my pc after a few seconds an error is showed,
''DATA EXECUTION PREVENTION''
''GENERIC HOST PROCESS FOR WIN32 SERVICES HAS ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO CLOSE. WE ARE SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE''
Then my sharing stops, audio mixer crashes and themes changes to classic view. The next thing i do is restart all these services again from services.msc, but after sometime they fail again.
I live in a university hostel and this problem is with all other people in my hostel. I tried ''WindowsXP-KB921883-x86-ENU.exe'' but this problem still remains.
Plz give me a permanent solution for this.

I guess it is a network virus! Repair your os, or reinstall it if needed , and do not share anymore or buy a Total Security antivirus!

(1) Can go to repalce the same Bootmgr from the recovery partition .
(2) Can go ahead and repace the Boot.mgr file from the boot disk ... Follow the below steps
>> put in the bootable disk
>> go to the repair your computer
>> click on the load driver
>> use the mini Windows Explorer to right-click the boot-drive and deselect “Compress this Drive” and choose Apply to sub-folders and files.
>> restart the computer .
Try the solution, it should work.

After months of not using MCE on my XP machine I thought it was time to launch it. However, when I clicked My TV, I got a message saying: Tuner hardware is not working properly or is not installed. I have a hauppauge 150 and it is visible in the device manager.
So i reinstalled the tv card using drivers from Dells web site (my pc is a dell). But no luck. I removed all MCE updates and .NET 1 and then reinstalled it. I also removed windows media player 11. No luck either. I tried Hauppauges drivers: no luck then. I also removed all Haupauge drivers using their cleaning program. No luck.
I then reinstalled all drivers using this file i found on this page.
It gave me WinTV in which I could see all channels, so the hardware is not dead. Then I thought that MCE should be able to see the tuner. No way.
I downloaded the Microsoft Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility to see if it is something with my mpeg decoder. All I could see there is that I have one MCE supported MPEG decoder, which I set as default. Still no luck.
Who can help me get MCE running again? What else should I try?
Posted by mrplace on
go into the drvice manager
right click and select scan for hardware changes
this should popup the tv tuner and automatically install the drivers..
If that fails
turn off the system
remove the tuner card
boot the system and using the device manager scan for hard ware changes
replace the tvtuner
restatr and in the device manager scan for hard ware changes again
Also in Mce insure you have the correct imaging device and tuner device selected, this will be located in the setup options

Recently something must have changed in Outlook as I have always been able to "test" an e-mail attachment before sending to a recipient. Now I constantly get the pop up "Microsoft Office Outlook % 1 is not a valid Win32 application' In order to test the attachment I log on to my e-mail provider, generate the e-mail there then test the attachment which almost always works. I then send the e-mail from the providers site and no longer use Outlook. Is it my imagination or are my Microsoft programs always changing without any of my doing?

I think my computer got a virus...there is no sound, I can't connect to the internet, and it won't allow me to do a system restore. I need help!! What can I do? What should I do?

If you have access to another internet connected computer, go to www.malwarebytes.com and download their free Anti-Malware software. Save it to some folder, call it export, for example.
Go to www.atribune.org and download the free ATF cleaner and save it to the same folder.
Go to this link and download Hijack this and save it to the same folder.
Write these three files onto a cd.
Install them onto your computer, and without rebooting, run a scan of your system with MBAM. Fix any problems it detects. Run the ATF cleaner to clean out your temp files and browser cache.
Then see if you can update the MBAM software.
If you can go online, immediately go to windows update and apply all critical and security updates for your system that it offers.
Update your Antivirus software. If you don't have AV, download and install Avira AntiVir free from here, & update the definitions.
Now reboot your computer and run a complete scan with your updated antivirus software. Let it fix any problems it detects.
If you're still having problems, run a scan with Hijack This. Don't fix anything, just save a logfile and report back with the results...
Also please consult this valuable link.
I hope this information allow you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please reply with a comment to this thread.

You need run SFC /SCANNOW
