Clarion DXZ655MP CD Player Questions & Answers
Where is the fuse and how do I replace it?
Normally it is in the power line behind the deck.the exact placement will depend on how you installed the deck.If it is not just behind then open the hood and look near the batter.
My dxz665mp has two power
Cd players require 3 wires for the unit to power on and thankfully name brand companies have made it easy for the consumer by making the wire harness with standardized wire colors. The wires that have the in-line fuse holders should be yellow and red.
The yellow wire is the constant 12 volt power feed to the the deck. This wire needs to have power all the time for the deck to maintain it's memory (ie saved radio station presets, audio settings, clock etc...).
The red wire is called the switched ignition or ACC (accessory) wire. This wire will only have power when the key is turned on.
The third wire all decks need is the black ground wire. All car electronics need power and ground to turn on.
The other wires are your speaker sets... white (+) and white with a black stripe (-) for the front left speaker, grey (+) and gray/black for front right, green (+) and green/black (-) for left rear and purple (+) and purple/black (-) for right rear.
Other wires...not all makes and/or models of radios have these but, if your's does, here's what they are.
blue with a white stripe - amp turn on wire, used for providing a turn on trigger to aftermarket amplifiers (some factory amplifiers too depending on the make, model and year of vehicle)
orange or orange with a white stripe - illumination wire
solid blue wire - power antenna wire, this makes motorized antennas go up and down when you turn the radio source on/off

Need to know what wire colours r what on the
Your ground wire is going to be black. Your normal wire colors are violet and violet/black, green and green/black, white and white/black, last but not least you have grey and grey/black. Those are your speaker wires. Solid blue is usually to power your antenna, and blue/white is for your amp turn on lead. Those two wires are approximately .5mV of power, and you can actually use either one to turn an amp on. Speakers: normally your solid color is positive, while the black stripe is your negative. As for which one goes to which speaker, left front is white, right front is gray, left rear is green, and right rear is violet. Hope this helps.
Clarion DXZ655MP Speakers worked then stopped...
sounds like the ohm load of your speakers is incorrect and overloaded the amp,....check all your specs, i.e. max, min ohm load on stereo, and speakers,...this stuff is important and must be within the range allowed or stuff like your experiencing happens,.....it's happened to me before,.....fried my amp because i had house speakers in my van, was great for about 3 loud days,....good luck, cracklin joe,.......

P code for a Clarion cx501
If the radio is a factory radio, the code to unlock it should be on a business card size piece of paper with the owners manual and warranty booklet. The card will say radio code and have a six digit number.
