Bring the outside sensor inside. Take the batteries out of the sensor and out of the main unit. Wait 10 minutes. Put the batteries back in the remote sensor. Put the batteries back in the main unit. Do not touch any of the buttons. Wait 10 minutes. If the remote temperature is not showing within 10 minutes, try again. Once the remote temperature is showing, you can set the clock.

Put the batteries back in the main unit. DO NOT PRESS ANY BUTTONS. Wait 10 minutes or until the outdoor temperature shows. Once the temperature shows you may use the buttons to set the clock, etc. If it does not show after 10 minutes, then try again.

Alternatively, you can check the user manual of your base unit to see if it lists compatible sensors. Garage door opener sensors are not universal. Safety sensors can only communicate with garage door openers from the same brand.
