APS film chamber stuck shut. Door won't open when film chamber release button is pressed

Sorry to hear about this issue. If you have a change bag, I would put a few jewelers screwdrivers in it then put the camera in it. With the bag closed up I would attempt to forcibly open the back. With the camera in the bag there is not any chance to expose the film. After the film is removed wind it back into the cartridge. Now send it off for developing. Good luck, Cordially,

Hello, i bought a minolta 300 maxxum 300 si, with a af 35-70 lens and a sigma 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 dl macro at an estate sell and case for 50.00 bucks. First off did i get a good buy? Secondly ive always

It's a pretty good deal. I personally wouldn't have gone for it, but then I don't go for Minolta gear. If it had been comparable Nikon gear I certainly would have.First of all, if you haven't read the camera manual then download a copy and read it.Second, go to your local public library and browse through the photography section. Most of the stuff there will be on digital photography, but they should have some introductory photography books. Things like depth of field, lighting, and composition are the same whether you're doing it digitally, on film, or on glass plates.Third, visit your local bookstore and browse through their photography section. If you don't want to buy too many books, jot down the title and author and go back to the library. They'll probably be able to borrow the book from another library. Most important, take pictures. Photography is like riding a bicycle. You can read about it all you want, watch other people do it, yet the only way you can learn it is to do it.Plan on wasting rolls of film practicing in your backyard or in a park. You can save some money by not asking for any prints when you get the film processed, just scanned onto a CD so you can view them on your computer.

I recently got Minolta F20r. After finishing first and inserting second film roll I can't reset the frame counter (the way its written in the manual).

I just read your manual. It is confirming what I said that opening the back resets the counter. As long as it automatically winds on to the next frame after taking the shot, you can just count the shots taken. At the end of the film, the winder mechanism will make a different noise. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1387699/Minolta-Af-101r.html?page=6&term=counter&selected=2#manual You are brave using film cameras these days. I have a Bronica ETR medium format camera, and an Olympus OM1md and an OM4 plus a Canon Zoom XL that haven't had a film through them in 20 years. Goodwill stores must be full of them. ..

I recently got Minolta F20r. After finishing 1st film roll and inserting 2nd, I realized that the frame counter stayed at 34 and doesn't move back. How do I reset it back to 1?

Opening the back should reset the counter. It's not worth repairing. Just remember how many shots you have taken. https://www.ebay.com/p/54950716 ..

Film cartage broke missing parts

To repair this camera will be well over $100; my opinion not worth it. You would be better served purchasing another camera of the same type from ebay. An alternative terrific camera is the Pentax K1000, better yet K1000 SE. The SE has a split viewfinder, easy to focus. The K1000 have microprism that are more difficult to focus with especially in lower light; need good eyes. Then there is the Pentax K2, that at the time was their top of the line camera. All three cameras can be purchased for about $100-ish. Most will come with the Pentax 50mm f/2.0 lens.

Since no repair parts or info is available to the public all you can do is have the factory exchange it or replace it.

Minolta x500 shutter arm stuck

A Minolta X500 is a 15+ year old camera. The shutter arm is stuck in the winding position is an indication that the shutter mechanics are broken. Repair would be way more expensive then picking up a used model. Minolta has dropped out of the camera business, some older Sony digital cameras can use their lenses if you have a number of them. Zoom lenses are usually what comes with most camera kits.
