I suggest you go to your nearest car electrical expert to check your car if there is problem with your car electrical connections..

Reset by holding the power button down for approx 20 seconds until you hear the tomtom drum roll then release immediately

Try re booting, turn off like normal, then when you go to turn it on, hold power button down all the way through the start up, and 15 seconds more than release the on button, now it's rebooted, see if that helps, let me know.

i dont believe it can chagre via usb as usb only provides up to 5v of power you can buy from walmart a cheap ac to car adapter (makes your ac outlet a cig lighter adapter) and power it that way.

remove some files from map folder example: cspeech_FRA.dat,cspeech_*.dat

Favourites are places / addresses that you want to keep on file.

To add an address to your list of Favourites ...

From the Main Menu, tap Add Favourite.

You can then select the location of the Favourite from: an address (that you enter), your Home, or a recent destination, a point of interest, your current position/location, or a position that you tap on the map browser.

To change the language,

1. Tap the screen to bring up the main menu,
2. Tap change preferences,
3. Tap the arrow in the bottom right corner until you see change language,
4. Tap change language,
5. Follow the instruction on the screen to confirm the language of your choice,
6. Choose a voice.

That should do the job.

Hi, if its updating with 3G, 3G is very poor at the moment & very unreliable & slow.

Depending on software version, the volume control opens when tapping the left or center area of the information bar in the lower part of the driving view.

It is likely that your battery is too low, or "dead". Hence, it will not start up. Plug in the device to charge it for a while before you try to start it again. It may take a "longer" time to start up (after you haven't used it for a while), so make sure it is plugged in as soon as it starts up, and have lots of patience while it initialize/boots, etc. (for a few minutes -- or for many minutes !). Turning it off and on again (while it is booting, etc.) because you think it's hung (dead), may cause memory/program problems that is a real pain to recover later.

how to change the existing language?

Have you tried to "re-boot" your device ? e.g. hold down the ON/OFF button for a (long) while ... until the device shuts down and restarts ... (and see if it goes past that point) Or have you tried to do a "hard" reboot, by pushing a pin into the RESET hole (at the bottom of the GPS) to shut it down and restart it ? If both of these doesn't work, it may be a (navigation) software error. In this case, try to restore your navigation software from your (latest computer) back-up ... and see if that solves the problem. if not, you may have to get TomTom support's help to download a "fresh" version of your navigation software to install on your GPS device, and then try to start it up ...

If you're refering to upgrading your Navigation software, QuickGPSfix data and/or your current (out-dated) map, you can do it by connecting to the TomTom website (www.TomTom.com) using the TomTom HOME or MyDrive Connect software, depending on the model/version of your GPS device. If you're refering to upgrading your GPS hardware/equipment, to have more capability/features, the device is not hardware upgradable, except for adding/using an SD card with a higher storage/memory capacity (to store more info/maps, etc.) ... provided you have a GPS device with an SD card slot. You'll want to consider buying a newer model with more capabilities / features than what you have now.
