Why does my tv have sound but black screen?

Check and replace damaged component/s at its backlight inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" will make surf easy. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. Do a search by type in the brand name of your device at its search box. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

I have a Samsung PS50C451B2D that has not turned back on since the extension cord it was connected to started to have a

I see so many here with no sound/nopicture issues:ISSUES: 1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signsof damage you can see---burnt parts etc.3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down theproblem.4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.Answers to issues:1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the genericones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don'tput a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses astandby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined andsome not. Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on thepower/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--Iattach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flatand have no brown material coming out on top or bottom. What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating(saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have to buyand try a board to see if it fixes it or not.4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over.If set is opened at least look for puffed up and bad caps like in thisphoto.5_31_2012_9_08_59_pm.jpg5_31_2012_9_09_17_pm.jpg

PS50C450B1W got crack in screen now tv will not

This may help to explain your problem.

http://news.softpedia.com/newsImage/How-Does-Plasma-TV-Work-2.jpg/

Underneath the glass there is a thin film of metal that is half of the "connection" that gives you a picture. When you cracked the glass that connection may have been severed and in doing so killed the tv. Sorry about the news :(

Hi i am trying to

Component video input is a high quality analog video signal separated by the three prime colors, red green and blue. You will need component video cables to make this connection.

Turn the television off.

Plug the connectors of each coaxial cable into their corresponding terminals on the TV.

Plug the other end of the cable into your other device that is also using component video, such as a cable box, video game console or DVD player, etc.

Power on the TV.

Press "component" on the remote.

Power on the device.

Why is my Samsung plasma tv screen becoming dark suddenly meanwhile it's on and still functioning

Hello. You can check HDMI cable in this case. If you're using an HDMI port that's not working well or has been damaged, it could result in a darker-than-usual screen. If you switch the cable or change devices and the TV is at a regular brightness, this is the case.

Samsung 55 TV White vertical patches?

It sounds like you might be dealing with backlight bleeding or an issue with the LED backlighting in your TV. This can sometimes occur over time due to normal wear and tear or manufacturing defects. If it started as a faint single brighter section and has now expanded to four, it's likely a hardware issue. While it may not be an easy fix, contacting the manufacturer's customer support or a professional technician would be a good next step to diagnose and possibly repair the problem. If you'd like, you can share the pictures for a more accurate assessment.

Samsung VHS VR8360C - if i use a three colour av cable on the VHS end and go to an HDMI connector at LG tv end will this work or do I need a converter?

The old yellow, red, white RCA cables are analogue signals, while HDMI cables only carry data. They are in no way compatible. You can buy active conversion boxes that will convert analog to digital, but simple cables cannot work

Remote code for Samsung remote to LG tv

It can't be done. The Samsung remote will be single frequency for that Samsung device only and the LG remote for that television (or series) only. Companies don't make cross-control between makers easy. The only exception is cable and satellite boxes to allow their remote to also control the television. If you have lost a remote or it doesn't work, this is the answer https://www.fixya.com/support/r29872378-universal_remotes_no_facsimile_remote ..

Samsung un55nu6950fxza TV

These LEDs are very susceptible to static electricity damage. What happens when they get zapped is a tiny threading fault starts in the LED crystal. The aluminum contact metal starts migrating into the crack, makes it wider and longer, and eventually goes all the way through the LED and shorts it out. When that happens, the metal overheats and burns out the LED so the entire string goes dead. What this means for you is that the original LED may have been may have been zapped at the factory. The replacement strip likewise, or when it was removed from another TV (if it is a used part), or when you put it in. It should have been in anti-static packaging. You have to be very careful not to touch any of the circuitry on the LED strip, and make sure you ground your hand to the TV metal both before picking up the LED strip and right before connecting the strip to the TV. Better yet, use an anti-static wristband connected to the TV frame. It is possible that the LED driver for that string is pushing too much current, but that's not likely. You would probably notice that part of the screen is unnaturally bright.

Brand new Samsung 77 OLED tv. Got knocked off the stand and fell on and bent the lower corner

It sounds like your TV has a display issue, likely caused by physical damage to the screen due to the bend. Repairing a damaged screen can be quite expensive, often nearing or exceeding the cost of a new TV, especially for larger screens like the one you described. Here are a few options you might consider:
  1. Sell it as is: You can try selling the TV in its current condition, clearly describing the issue with the display. Some buyers may be interested in purchasing it for parts or attempting a repair themselves.
  2. Attempt a DIY repair: Depending on your technical skills and willingness to take on the challenge, you could try to repair the TV yourself. However, this can be risky and may void any remaining warranty. There are online tutorials and replacement parts available, but again, this route requires some technical expertise.
  3. Professional repair: You could contact a professional TV repair service to get an estimate for repairing the screen. Be sure to weigh the cost of repair against the potential selling price of the TV after it's fixed to determine if it's worth the investment.
  4. Sell for parts: If repairing the screen is not feasible, you could dismantle the TV and sell its components individually. Some parts, like the internal circuitry or casing, may still hold value to electronics enthusiasts or repair professionals.
  5. Trade-in or recycle: Some retailers offer trade-in programs where you can exchange your old electronics for store credit or discounts on new purchases. If the TV is beyond repair, you can also look into recycling options to properly dispose of it.
Ultimately, the best option for you will depend on the extent of the damage, your budget, and your willingness to invest time and effort into repairing or selling the TV.
