The type number is usually on the serial number tag. This is a plastic tag usually on the bottom side of the unit. If this tag is gone, identifying the unit will be difficult.

have you checked the fuel plate thats in the bottom of carb? they tend to dry up and because rubber the 2 stroke fuel makes it dry and shrink, then it no longer pumps fuen into cylinder

There are two lines from the tank to the carburator. One picks up gas and fills the prime bulb, the other is a return line. The pickup line should have a filter on the end of it that is in the tank. The other line just dumps back in the tank. Usually the reason these lines deteriorate is because of ethanol in the gas. Make sure you're using ethanol free gas.

There can be a few reasons. 1. The seal on the spark plug is not sealing properly and the oil from the two stroke oil is leaking out and burning. If it is leaking from the centre of the plug, the ceramic core is broken. They are cheap enough to buy and easy to repair. 2. The cylinder head gasket is leaking a bit and burning oil off. Make sure any filters on the fan(?) or the air filter are clean as it sounds like it might be overheating as well. full make and model in all questions please. ..
