Glare-can we remove plasting sheeting on screen?
yes, you need a philips screwdriver, pull the speaker grill off, remove the 4 or 5 screws along the bottom of the screen assembly, unlock the 2 electrical plugs and remove them from their ties, lift up on the screen assembly and remove it. turn it upside down and remove the 4 screws holding the bottom of the frame on, remove frame bottom, slide screen protector out, re-assemble, bingo, no glare.
Power light is on, menu info shows on screen, but
You should be able to use the device button on the remote control. If this does not
work, try going into the menu and disable the
home theater mode. The
home theater mode locks the TV to input 1.
I believe that it is in the advanced menu from the main menu.

Tv wont responde to remote or front panlle, pressed
There are several things that you can do for troubleshooting this symptom.
First, you can test the remote; if you have a camcorder you can film the remote while it is transmitting. The camera can see the infrared diode on the front of the remote. Just turn the video camera on record and shine the front of the remote into the lens of the camera. If it is flashing then the remote is working.
You may want to unplug the television set for 30 min and then plug it in and see if that fixes it.
As you stated in your post, neither the remote or the front panel work to turn the television. It is possible that you have a dead set.
I would recommend that you contact a local service center to come out and diagnose the problem that you are having.

2001 Mitsubishi 65 inch HD1080
Ok, try this first. After attempting to turn on set after it shuts off push and hold the MENU and INPUT buttons at the same time on the front of the set for 10 seconds. This should acccuate the self diagnostics function in the micro and the power LED should start blinking a two sequence code. That code will narrow things down.
Buttons not working right on tv
Yeah you were mislead. Those switches are known trouble makers. You can just leave the switches disconnected and the set will operate just fine with the remote with no problems. If you want to fix the control panel, just replace all the switches on it. They are cheap. The Mitsubishi part number for the switches is 432P089010
