Hi John, it's Jack at Dyson.
I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty with your DC50's motorised brush bar. Usually, following the steps shown in our Support video will reset the machine and get the brush bar working again.
However, if you've already removed any threads and hair and checked for obstructions without successfully resolving the issue, I would encourage you to contact us directly for further assistance. If a repair or replacement part is needed, we can also confirm if your machine is within the Dyson guarantee period.

We'll look forward to speaking with you - I'm sure we can help resolve this.
Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.
DC50's brush bar comes as a complete assembly. The soft black anti-static carbon fibre filaments aren't available as individual components.
However if the carbon fibre filaments on your DC50's brush bar are worn or damaged in some way, we may be able to help. If you can email a clear picture of the issue to me directly at [email protected], I'll be in touch as soon as possible to provide further assistance. If you can also include your full home address and post code, as well as your contact phone number and the date on which you purchased your machine, that would be very helpful to us.
I'll look forward to hearing from you.
Hi Marian, it's Jack at Dyson.
It's normal for harmless static to cause fine dust particles to cling to parts of the cyclone pack after use. This won't affect performance as the airflow doesn't need to pass through this dust.
It's not possible to remove the mesh shroud, but you can clear any fluff or clinging debris from the shroud after removing the clear bin. In order to do this, press the red bin base release catch once to open the bin base. Then with the base still open, press the same red release catch firmly a second time to disengage the bin.
You can then use a dry cloth or soft brush to remove any debris from the fine mesh shroud. Please don't attempt to wash or submerge either the clear bin or the cyclone pack, as this could cause damage not covered under your Dyson warranty.
I hope this information is useful, but you're welcome to get in touch with our experts if you'd like further guidance. You can reach us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Have you checked the rotary brush at the front. Although IO dont have the same model of dyson I need to clean out the dog hairs that get wrapped around the main rotary brush which is easily got to by turning the catches with a coin under the cleaning head. They should have a little arrow or padlock symbol showing which way to turn them
If you did put it together as it should, the only thing I can think of, is something got stuck in the pipe. Check this.
Old vacuums you could put the hose and or pipe to the other end of the vacuum, to blow it out. Now you have to be a little inventive to check a blockage.
two faults, mainly battery.
A flashing blue light indicates that there is no power, please charge the battery. A flashing amber light indicates that there is no power or a temporary fault (e.g. too hot/cold). A flashing red light indicates that there is a fault, please call the Dyson Helpline.
If your Dyson Airwrap hair styler is turning off at certain heat settings and the red light is blinking, it could indicate a potential issue with the device. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
1. Check the power supply: Ensure that the Airwrap is properly plugged into a functioning power outlet and that the power cable is securely connected to the device.
2. Reset the device: Unplug the Airwrap from the power source and wait for about 30 seconds. Then, plug it back in and try turning it on again. This reset may resolve any temporary issues.
3. Clean the filter: The Airwrap has a filter located near the base of the handle. Check if the filter is clogged with dust or debris. If so, gently clean it with a soft brush or by rinsing it under running water. Allow it to dry completely before reinserting it into the device.
4. Check for overheating: The red blinking light on the Airwrap can also indicate that the device has overheated. If this is the case, it may have an automatic shut-off feature to protect against damage. Allow the Airwrap to cool down for a while before using it again. Make sure the vents on the device are clear and not blocked by hair or other obstructions.
5. Contact Dyson support: If the issue persists after trying the above steps, it's recommended to contact Dyson customer support for further assistance. They can provide specific troubleshooting advice or arrange for repairs if necessary.
Remember to refer to the user manual or Dyson's official support channels for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding your specific model of the Dyson Airwrap hair styler.
