After a quick power outage, we lost everything,

On my Dir.TV box is a door in the lower right front. Behind this door is a red button. Press it and turn the box back on if it doesn't come back on by itself. It will go through a reboot cycle of 5 to 10 minutes. That should get the satellite going but I'm not sure about the TV input problem. Do you have a menu button on the TV? If so you should be able to find a way to change the input. If not, find your model number, then Google "TV remote" and you should find sites that will sell you an original remote. They will have a box that you can enter your model # into and tell you your remote number. Then Google that part number and shop for the best price. Good luck.

When everything is plugged in

Hello Ryan. You have a loose connection within that tv. Your best bet may be to haul it into the local tv repair shop where they have the diagnostic tools and knowhow to find the short and repair it. J.
