My TV cuts on, then right back off

This is a very common problem among Toshiba & Mitsubishi RP TV's. It is caused by the circuit boards not communication with each other. The fix is about $600-700 with labor, parts, etc. I would suggest getting an LCD or LED TV.

The TV says volume off how do I turn it back on?????

Go into the main menu and look to see if the SPEAKERS are switched off--the model listed is rather old and may also have a internal/external slide switch on the rear of the set.

Hello I have a mitsubishi vs-45603 with what appears to be a convergence problem.

You may have bought bad chips or your soldering...This is a common problem on many brands of Projection Tv sets. Its usually a convergence issue. You can get more details and a solution here on fixya using this link http://www.fixya.com/support/r11932741-convergence_repair_dull_video_repair

My tv is locked and i do not know the code

Devices: Mitsubishi VS-45603 45 in. Rear Projection TV (only)I'm hoping your have a working original remote for this creature from 1998 (the dark ages of Analog). The first thing to try to reset a stored "lock code" is to unplug the set and leave it unplugged until the code is lost (or reset to the default). How long will this be? Mitsubishi won't tell (see below).-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Service Codes are for the use of qualified service technicians only. Damage resulting from the unauthorized use of Service Codes will not be covered under warranty.Manufacturer: MitsubishiModel: VS-45603TV type: Analog Rear Projection TelevisionChassis: VZ5Year of Manufacture: 1998Option Menu Code: 1370Circuit Adjust Code: 2357Convergence Adjust Code: 2359<4><5><6>Since Mitsubishi fails to provide online support for its own products (even Users Manuals are unavailable), its left to the consumer to discover how to use & maintain Mitsubishi Electronics Products. Accordingly, I've no way to provide guidance on how to use the above Service Codes, nor is assistance possible if something goes horribly awry during the course of experimenting with them. Please post your results.

Mitsubishi vs-45603

This set is not HD capable.
When all signals are supposed to go to High Def., there is supposed to be a box that will convert the signal from 1080i to 480i.
I'm not sure how it will look, but, the down converted signal seems to look good for now.

The new technology is coming down in price and the new features are coming at us at record speed.

For instance:
The new tuners are capable of receiving local high definition stations using rabbit ears.
You don't need a cable box to receive all stations (except premium stations such as HBO) including High Definition if the turner has a "Clear QAM" tuner.
LEDs being used in LCD and DLP make them less vulnerable to loss of lamps prematurely and a heartier set.
LCDs and DLPs are becoming the set of choice due to contrast ratios as high as 100,000 to one and unlimited color.
A new type of set is just around the corner using laser technology (from what I have been told by manugactures).

In conclusion:

Your set is not HD, but, it should still operate when or if the change does take place. You may need to get more equipment to help with this change and it may cost more than buying a new set.

After big storm the tv

You are in pip mode, and if itwill not let show on regular mode, then your tuner is out,and youcan bypass it and go directly into the video input with RCA cables from your recieever, and put your set in video mode, better picture, and save you 500 dollars on a new tuner.

Screen fades occasionally. Perfetc and them fades

Make sure that in the settings that your TV isn't setup to auto dim. I remember I had a similar problem. I think when ever a light would turn on or someone would walk near the TV it would get dim. It was really annoying. Check your settings. Good luck
