have you tried accessing the self diagnosis feature to see how manytimes the power indicator blinks after accessing ? If so let me know the blink code and I will assist you with the issue.

I would suggest you go into the menu and select convergence and then advanced convergence (set will display on screen instructions) and call up the grid of lines by doing that---the grid of lines you see should all be yellow---if you see red or blue lines out of position try with the Mitsubishi remote to adjust them.If they will not adjust the set needs the convergence circuit repaired.For many if this is the issue it can be a do it yourself repair--I have complete instructions for this repair in this set---start to finish.Look first to see if this is your problem.SD TECH

A problem in HD BUT not on standard 480 programs-----Convergence not good in HD OR WHAT?

First things first. Does your cable box have a HDMI output on the rear? If so, mearly aquire a HDMI cable from one of your TV electronics retailers and connect it to one of the unused HDMI inputs on your HDTV. Use your TV remote to switch to that HDMI port and POOF.. there you go.

Are you talking about the 2,2 code?

My best guess is that the convergence IC's have failed and blown the +24 volt and/or the -24 volt fuses.

Have you acessed the power indicator error code by pressing in the menu and input buttons on the front of the set both in together and hold in for 5 seconds? The led will blink a series of blinks to indicate a 2 digit code which will repeat several times. Let me know what the blink seqience is.

To get it to repeat this--you have to unplug the set, try to turn it on again and repeat the process.

The error codes are to try to narrow down where the problem is.

The two convergence IC's are going to have to be replaced---possible do it yourself if you have some skill and can solder.

The reason this happens is simple: This set should use two of the STK-392-110 chips, they have a metal back and when installed a white grease to transfer heat to the metal they are bolted to is applied.

After some time the heat dries out the grease and one of the chips reaches a point where it cannot move the heat to the metal fast enough and fails.

Someone who can get at them (I can tell you how) and can solder (each chip has 18 pins) can do this repair for under 30 dollars total parts cost.

I never know when I answer a question here how much skill the person asking has.

The convergence IC chip or chips need to be replaced. Sometimes you can find them on Ebay pretty cheep. Sometimes just buying a used working board is less of a hassle. These chips will have a number like ST 393570 (Just an example). And they would be almost the length of your thumb. It will work but keep in mind soldering can be tough if you heat these up too much in the process of soldering? They will fry.

Most likely it is a convergence issue. Have u tried to converge red and Blue?
