Mitsubishi VS-5041

your set is not a DLP its a traditional rear projection tv set and has three picture tubes there is not a bulb or color wheel in this model if its dead ? you would need to check the power supply first to see if you have the proper voltages . the trouble shoot the rest of the circuits to see what is shutting it down . convergence circuit failure is always a good suspect in these sets

Mitsubishi big screen model vs-50604. i hit a button on the front of the tv and now all i have on the screen is a caption that says installng guide plus data now. is there a reset on the tv anywhere

Open the front panel. Just to the left of the RCA imputs is a small button that says reset. You may need to use a pen or paper clip to press it. Press that and the system will reset .That should fix your issue, or do like me and get a Sharp. LOL. My bulb went out 2 times and I got irritated with it.

I have a mitsubishi vs-50605 and it keeps shutting off, why?

Most likely case is the set has developed bad solder connections which is normal with heat and age---moving the set may have speeded this up.With sets of this age what I do is get the chassis unbolted and pulled back so it can be tilted up--so bottom of board faces rear of set. Then start looking for bad connections in power supply and a few other areas. This presumes you can get it apart and are able to look and resolder poor connections.Set may be too old to invest money in a shop repair as a lot of the parts it uses are no longer available---other side of the coin is these are much more trouble free than newer Plasma and LCD sets and last a lot longer..........

Lg 32lc4r pip

The model listed is a very old Mitsubishi. It likely has only one tuner so the pip must come from a video input--in the old days people would use a splitter for cable one to set and another to a VCR and run cables a/v from the vcr to one of the video inputs.Later sets had two tuners--one the main and the other PIP.

Mitsubishi VS50605 Ser# 101189 This

Hi,
I have read your first comment and you have said that there's some instances that the unit power up by repeatedly turning it on and off.
This kind of symptoms is an indication of out-of-regulation condition in the power supply section. It was caused by leaky/dried filter electrolytic capacitor in that section. It will dropped the supply voltage and will disable the unit. In the first stage of the symptoms, warm-up will make itself stable but it will get worst, time will come that the unit will not even power up at all like what you've experienced right now.
Leaky capacitor has a physical indication of fault like bulged/dome at the top and can be easily identify like in this sample picture.
jdvillanueva_72.jpg
Dried electrolytic capacitor has no physical indication of fault, you must have a capacitor checker/tester to determine its condition.
Check the filter electrolytic capacitor most especially in the supply line of the relay, and in the voltage regulator IC's circuitry.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

Mitsubishi tv model VS50VA1 pix

I have fixed a lot of these sets.

The most common thing that happens is the set develops what we call cold or bad solder connections.

The circuit boards were not ever soldered by hand but by machine--everything soldered in one motion.

I have seen a large number of these where once the chassis (frame with the circuit boards) is pulled loose and tilted so bottom of all three boards face the rear of the set it is usually a 15 minute job to locate and re-solder cracked connections.

The most common area is the power supply board but almost ALL the bad connections are easy to see with your eyes.

If you cannot or do not know someone capable of this it may not be worth a shop repair---very good set but many major parts are NO LONGER available.

Soldering should cure the problem and I can if you have some skill (or someone you know does) point you exactly where and what to look for.

The reason for the bad connections is simple: the boards heat up and expand and when they cool they contract and the heat from some parts causes connections to literally crack loose.

Let me know if I can assist you in any way, I am here to help you.

My mitsubichi projection tv model

This model does not use a "bulb", it has three picture tubes.

What does happen is the lens for each can get dusty; picture will gradually get dimmer and dull looking.

With set unplugged, remove rear cover (it can be done from front but back is safer for a do it yourself person..

With the rear cover removed look for the 3 large black lens pointing up in the middle of the set--simply clean them with a lens cloth or a paper towel with glass cleaner sprayed on it---this should usually be done once a year.

If they have not been cleaned recently or you are in a dusty environment, cleaning them should improve the picture a lot.

Let me know if you have questions.

I have an older Mitsubishi

Hi,
I've suspect a loose connection on your unit. I would advice you to check the cable wire for bad connection. Make sure that you have a good source of signal from your cable provider. Bad solder joints on the tuner section is also to consider but the problem is, this is internal, If you don't have necessary tools and test instruments, and can't do the job yourself, I would advice you to look for a professional to troubleshoot the problem. Don't attempt to work in there if you don't know the safety precaution of handling it, there some stored electricity enough to hurt you with a little mistake only.
Hope I helped you. Have a nice day!

Picture at top of screen

It appears you have one of two problems. The lines across the top may be horizontal. And you may have a black horizontal bar across the top as well. If this is the case you have a vertical IC that needs resoldered or replaced. The capacitors near and next to this vertical IC will need replaced. This would be the powersupply board. It would be the board with the the flyback transformer ( it looks like a distributor cap with four sparkplug wires coming out of it). On the other hand, if you are concerned about colored lines not lining over each other correctly. You would have convergence ICs that are bad. You will need to replace these and any low ohm (below 10 ohms) two watt resistors. Could be two or three of these that are bad. And not to discourage you...there may be two capacitors that are bad. The convergence board in this case is also the signal board. It is the one with all the RCA jacks and RF connectors. I did not go into more detail,as your answer is not detailed enough. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support.

My tv was accedently turned

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV.

Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired of course) and found four bulged capacitors on the PSB. Many major electronics companies Philips/Magnavox, Sony, Panasonic, and others were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 years instead of 10-20. The capacitors fail prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in all sorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems.

Here are some options for you.

1. Have it fixed by a professional $$$$$$$??????? (Is it under warranty?)

Remember, TVs CONTAIN HIGH VOLTAGE AND CAN KILL YOU! Do this at your own risk.

2. Open your TV and find PSB. (The board that the power cord plugs into) Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad caps replace the entire board. The entire board costs around $250 right now because they are in high demand right now. They can be found online. I would definitely shop around though.

3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill.

Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourself it will save you hundreds.

This may be your problem. If you determine that it might be.

I have a Tip/How TO tutorial on this site that may also help. It gives step by step instructions for replacing caps on PSB #715t2432-2. If this is your board you are in luck. Here is the Link: Fixing the Philips Turns/shuts off on its own problem. I'm working on uploading pictures to help guide people though the process as well. Let me know if I can do anything to help.

Hope this helps and if it does please rate it accordingly. Good luck.

My 50605 won't power on

It could be a few things causing the set not to power up, best case 200-300 for repair. Worst case 500-700. With new sets being so cheap I might think about replacment before repair. Good luck
