Power shuts off 1 second after tv is turned on

Good Day,

This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times.
1 - 2 = no error detected
2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current)
2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies)
2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection)
2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source)
1. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR 2 2. CHECK FOR LEAKY C9A60 470 PF 1000 V PART # 154P400030, PARALLEL TO D9A57 ON THE POWER PCB (NOT SHOWN IN THE SCHEMATIC).

2. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR 2 2. CHECK FOR OPEN FUSES F9A04 AND F9A05 PART # 283P043090 ON THE +24 AND -24 VOLT LINES. IF THE FUSES ARE OPEN THE CONVERGENCE OUTPUT CIRCUIT WOULD BE SUSPECT.

3. SELF-DIAGNOSIS INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC4B01 PART # 270P261020 (VERTICAL OUTPUT) LOADING 24-VOLT SUPPLY LINE. LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB.

I hope this was helpful, BIG IRISH.

Inputs randomly stop registering, screen goes blank

Code 12 indicates no error. Push the Menu and Device buttons after the TV has shut off to get the proper code, not after you unplug and plug it back.

It seems your set is not Mitsubishi WS-55819 so it will help if you can give the exact model.

Is there a way to hookup more than 1 hd device at

if your asking if you can hook-up more than one HDMI device into a tv with only one HDMI input, then the answer is yes. The cheapest way is to buy an HDMI switcher. Some are remotely controlled some are manual, all depends on what you want to spend. The other more high-end solution is to buy a good home theater receiver with multiple HDMI inputs. A quick google search should find you any of these products.

I am the right person for you to talk to. I know these sets very well--ws-55819 uses two of the STK-392-570 convergence chips.

What I have seen happen in dozens of these is one of the chips develops internal connection problems--resoldering the pins on the bottom of the board will not fix this.

If the set is working you can get a pair of the chips and almost everything else to do this repair for about 30 dollars total.

I HAVE START TO FINISH, STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR THIS REPAIR ON THIS MODEL.

I have fixed hundreds of these sets with this kind of problem.

The instructions tell you everything you will need and how to do the repair from start to finish.

This is a HD set and cost a lot of money when new--if you want the instructions and where to get the parts let me know. I am here to help--by the way--do not burn pressed wood--it contains nasty chemicals like formaldehyde.

If this information has helped you and you want the information rate this solution as I do this here for free.

When I try to use the advanced convergence, the

WS-55819 uses two of the STK-392-570 CONVERGENCE Ic chips. If convergence is skewed and or will not adjust in some area both chips and any of the 3.9 ohm blue protect resistors right in front of them need to be replaced.

You can buy a pair of the chips on Ebay for under 14 dollars plus shipping---total parts cost for this fix should be under 30 dollars---most shops are going to get 300 or more for this repair in this set.

I have START TO FINISH, STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR THIS REPAIR IN THIS MODEL. If you or someone you know can do it you can save the set and a lot of money. The instructions tell you every thing you will need for the repair.

If you want them let me know and I will post them here for you. If you have questions or need help let me know.

Timer light keeps blinking and can not stop it or

THIS IS MY STANDARD ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION==SOMETIMES PEOPLE DO NOT TRY THE EASY POSSIBLE REASON--IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS LET ME KNOW---IF THE ANSWER TOLD YOU something you did not know--rate the solution----

ONLY 1 of 2 things can cause this problem----

First thing to do is remove front speaker grill--it should pull out and is secured with plastic pegs--behind it you will find an inspection plate---

Notice the one or two pairs of wires coming from the front keyboard of the set---remove the inspection plate and follow the wires to the right--you can unplug both plugs(most have two and they are marked with letters and different sizes so you cannot get them wrong)

The idea here is to remove the front keyboard with its reset button etc from the circuit---You will still be able to try to turn the set on with the remote---

These sets have a Receiver that is called a DM board--(large metal box to the left as you look from the back) and if the power goes out the green light will blink for about 70 seconds and then go out---it is the Receiver booting up. It is called the DM board.

If disconnecting the keyboard allows the set to turn on--you have a bad reset switch and two choices---either operate the set only with the remote or to remove the front screen and get at the reset switch (it is tiny) and remove and/or replace it.

If disconnecting the keyboard does not restore the set to operation---the receiver is bad---there are 4 or more caps and some pico fuses that can fail in that unit---Mitsubishi no longer sells or repairs these--if it is bad and not the caps there is a company you can send the unit to and have it repaired--if you need to know their name let me know---

You can call them and get a quote for repairing the receiver.

Let me know what more information you need--I am here to help.

Our tv just turns itself after 10 minutes we can

Replace the function switches. To see if switches are bad remove front grill and small panel if needed. disconnect the plug that goes to the switch board. You can use the remote to operate the tv. If the problem stops the switches are bad. Common problem on this set. Also swollen capacitors in the Digital module will cause shut down.

I have a mitsubishi WS55819 and every time i turn

I suspect what you are describing is a convergence problem---when it acts up go into the customer menu and select convergence--then advanced--it will bring up a grid of lines---if red, or blue is skewed this is your problem.

I have repaired hundreds of these sets--this model uses two of the STK-392-570 convergence chips and I have seen many where the convergence comes and goes--what happens in these sets is not a soldering problem but the pins inside the chips come loose--Each chip has about 16 pins--I have had ones that when I removed the solder pins fell out of the chip.

The pair of chips can be bought on Ebay for about 12 dollars plus shipping (I know the best seller there) and if you or someone you know can do it you can save the set and a lot of money.

Most shops are going to charge at LEAST 300 for this repair--and some will not do it in your home--it can be easily done in the home and takes about 1 hour.

I HAVE START TO FINISH, STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR THIS REPAIR IN THIS MODEL.

If you think you can do it yourself let me know and we will get the instructions to you.

If you have any questions or need help--let me know by replying to this solution. I am here to help people.

My tv clicks on & then clicks off. no pic

When you turn it on and the set goes off---engage the self check this model has:

On the front of the set press and hold BOTH MENU AND INPUT(or device) for at least 5 seconds and RELEASE both buttons.

The front power light should blink a two digit error code: for example------2 blinks, a pause and 2 blinks--this is the most common error and the most easy to repair.

Let me know what error code you find and I will tell you what it means.

My picture goes 3-d like on the sides, and if your

WS-55819 uses two of the STK-392-570 convergence chips-----usually it is not a soldering problem--I have seen dozens of these sets that use this chip--some of the chips before they totally fail do this--convergence comes and goes--I have also seen several when I unsoldered them that the pins literally fell out of the chips--

I HAVE START TO FINISH, STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR THIS REPAIR IN THIS SET--if you can solder well and are handy--you can buy a pair of the chips on Ebay for less than 13 dollars plus shipping.

I cannot give you my email address but..........

I have also photos of a few things you need to look at if you do this repair----The instructions tell you how to do the repair and also tell you EVERYTHING you will need to do it.

If you have some idea of how I can get the instructions to you other than here let me know--

Take my word for it---if convergence is jumping in or out you need to replace both chips and the set will not have this problem again for 5-8 years--lifespan on these parts.

Convergence is out at the corners, and adjust

you have a convergence amp ic that has failed
you will need to repalce them and perahps a resistor or two and possibly a pico fuse
if you have the tools and soldering station and some know how you can change them your self or
you may want to recruit a local tech to assist you with this repair

Picture goes in and out

Most likely cold solder joint around the p.i.p module; remove the back cover and try moving lightly some of the circuits that are standing up(while the set is working)just be careful where you put your fingers,if that makes a difference you`ll need to remove those boards (plugins)and solder the terminals. Also the main board will have to be lifted and and soldered where the boards connect. good luck

Can not align red even though convergence board WS-55819

Did you replace the center board with the STK-392-570 chips or the Digital convergence board mounted on it?

98% of the time if you have a convergence problem it is on the center board---the small board on the left under the metal shield box stores and controls the convergence of this set.

WHICH DID YOU REPLACE?

I am here to help----I have fixed hundreds of Mitsubishi sets with convergence troubles.

PLEASE LET ME THE DIAGRAM

...hmm, here is your user manual:

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Mitsubishi-WS-55819-TVs-manual/id/276bh851/t/2/

...and some of our guys found a service manual (not recommended) but
they attempted to save someone a few bucks.

Try emailing one of those guys, all I can do is recommend a local service center for you. Please don't 'mess with any high voltages' unless/until you find a qualified repair person.

Can't get it back to tv input - tv connected to 2

You set may be set to Home Theater mode.
I think it is in the advanced menu.
Set home theater to off. This will fix the input on the television to input one, no matter what you do.

I hope that this helps you.
