What is the best color setting for Mitsubishi WS-48515 48 in?

The menu will have some choices---if someone hit the reset it returns all of them to default levels. You do need the Mitsubishi remote to do that--go into menu and look for custom-which is the one you can preset all to your taste---the only critical one is PICTURE which is contrast---it should never be set above 70 percent or fixed images (like games) can burn the images into the tubes this set uses.If you do not have the owner manual let me know--I know a site that has them for free.

Blinking green light on tv

If this is as posted a ws-48515:ONLY1 of 2 things can cause this problem----First thing to do is remove front speaker grill--it should pull out and issecured with plastic pegs--behind it you will find an inspection plate---Notice the one or two pairs of wires coming from the front keyboard of theset---remove the inspection plate and follow the wires to the right--you canunplug both plugs(most have two and they are marked with letters and differents so you cannot get them wrong)The idea here is to remove the front keyboard with its reset button etc fromthe circuit---You will still be able to try to turn the set on with theremote---These sets have a Receiver that is called a DM board--(large metal box to theleft as you look from the back) and if the power goes out the green light willblink for about 70 seconds and then go out---it is the Receiver booting up. Itis called the DM board. If disconnecting the keyboard allows the set to turn on--you have a bad resetswitch and two choices---either operate the set only with the remote or toremove the front screen and get at the reset switch (it is tiny) and removeand/or replace it.If disconnecting the keyboard does not restore the set to operation---thereceiver is bad---there are 4 or more caps and some pico fuses that can fail inthat unit---Mitsubishi no longer sells or repairs these--if it is bad and notthe caps there is a company you can send the unit to and have it repaired--ifyou need to know their name let me know---You can call them and get a quote for repairing the receiver.Let me know what more information you need--I am here to help.

We have direct tv, the other day while attempting

I would start with the DirecTV unit first and set the resolution back to 480i. This can be done in the menu or with a button on the front of the receiver, all modes are shown on the front of the unit. It's not uncommon to get that message when using the DTV input on MITS tv's, it's just a formatting glitch...but a bit annoying. Your set may not decode 720p resolution so I suspect those channels that broadcast that format may be your problem.

Ther is a red line on the left side of the tv

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....
  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some photos of convergence problems.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the settings menu then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move RED and BLUE in all directions - up, down, left, and right. And you should be able to get the grid straight.

If you can't move them in all directions or cant move them far enough your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Note: If you TV has as flash focus or magic focus button only try pressing the button. If it fails to fix the convergence your need to fix it. See below for a fix

How do I change my remote for TV to Input Video 1?

There should be a button on your remote denoting "Input." If you connect the DVD player to the TV on "video input 1" then push the input button on the remote or TV itself until the DVD appears on your TV (which will be Video 1). Some TVs must have the component (in your case) the "DVD" player connected to the TV before the TV will recognize it. Make sure the DVD is powered up and then push the input button until the DVD player appears on the TV. Depending on your TV inputs, there may be multiple inputs like, Video, Component, DVI, or HDMI. The above are listed in the respective order of "quality." HDMI being the best. Whatever input you hook the DVD player up to on the TV will be the "input" you will look for when pressing the input button. Hope this helps.

I WAS WATCHIN TV THE OTHER NIGHT AND ALL OF A

Some of these sets if you unplug them---The green power light will blink for about 70 seconds before it stops--this is normal as the receiver unit in this set is booting up. Wait for the light to stop blinking and then the set should turn on. Some of these sets develop a problem where the light never stops blinking--usually the receiver is now bad--very expensive to get fixed.

I do this here for free so if this helps you give me a vote here.

Green light won't stop flashing. Unable to turn off/on or reset.

Unplug the unit for 5 minutes then plug it again. Turn it on. If it does not power up, press the SYSTEM RESET button on the front panel with a pointed object such as the point of a pencil or end tip of a paper clip. The green LED light will flash quickly for about a minute then stops. You may turn on the TV then. The changes you made most recently, before using
SYSTEM RESET, may be lost. Changes you made previously, however, are not lost.

My mitsubishi ws-48515 will not show a picture ,

The keys on the front of the TV are probably in 'lockout' setting. Try holding the MENU key on the front of the TV for about 10-12 seconds to see if they will unlock. Let me know if this does not work.

Mitsubishi DLP 73 inch TV WD-73738 is blinking 6 red and 1 yellow, replaced the color wheel, and still having the same problem?

The lamp is not enabled possibly due to the colour wheel motor not turning. Any broken glass jamming it? Or the lamp ballast has failed due to an old/worn lamp.

I have a mitsubishi dlp tv model wd 60738 and when i turn it on the power button blinks for a second and then it stops but no picture and after while turns off

Most likely you need to replace the projection bulb. You can find them online. DLP sets are famous - or infamous - for burning out the bulbs/lamps.
