On your laptop you need to download skype and install it, feed it your login and password etc. Just because you have something on one computer doesn't mean it's on the other one. Since Skype is free just go download it from skype.com or google for "skype", if you need to know your version of Windows, take your mouse to the bottom left corner and hit the button, then give a Right-Click on "My Computer" and go to Properties, this will bring up a screen detailing every question you could be asked about your computer before a program like Skype lets you download, if necessary.

Programs can't be run from your stationary computer on your laptop, or vice versa, unless you were inclined to run a remote session but judged by how you worded your question, this is not what you're looking for. Also, with remote you'd defeat the purpose of Skype-ing unless you were sitting at your computer with your laptop infront of you. Yeah, I doubt that's what you need, just go get Skype running on your laptop.

You dont need to use the recovery disk. The machine has a built in recovery partition. Unless you re-partion the HD. Re-partitioning the HD will destroy the restore partiotion. Here's the procedure for the restore factory state:

Restart your computer and press F9 key when the computer is starting up. On some computer you can press the F4 key and you will be able to activate the partition that is set inactive. After that your computer will restart and you can restore the system as you like. Have a good one!

YOU CAN ROTATE IT BACK USING THE SAME PROGRAM SOFTWARE. You can find it there, just fiddle the program.

you can run a repair for your operating system. use the recovery disk that came with your system if you have one to run the chkdsk /r . the operating system is corrupted

If you have Microsoft Office installed you can use Microsoft word to take notes.

If you don't have Microsoft office then right click on the desktop and from the drop down list select New Text document.
A new text document will appear on the desktop just double click on that and take notes.

are you getting any lights on?saying its on. sounds like it over heated,can you hear if the fan is trying to run? if so try cleaning it all out.

try asking windows to look for the driver,or roll the windows back to when it last worked.

try going into your control panel and click on the pointer icon and see if you can set from there

look for paperclip reset button .use a paperclip to reset. Very small button side or in front

There is possibly a button jammed into the keyboard section of the laptop, under the screen (usually). Try and see if you can release it, this shuts off the power when the screen is closed.
