No power sanyo r227

I had the same problem. A defective capacitor is trying to charge near the audio chip . My solution : I have remove the audio chip (the one with big heat sink) and I use the aux out output to my amplifier. When plugging it takes some time to finally work : but once plug and working it stays on and work ok.

My sanyo r227 internet radio just flashes quickly

Flashing is caused by bad capacitors Caps on power supply board all go bad sooner or later, so replace them all ($5). Look for bulging tops especially, and the green ones are the worst. Power spike could have caused poor quality caps to fail. Don't want to fix it, sell it to me.

Could be bad capacitors or fuse. Fuse is inside under a plastic cover as I recall. Caps on power supply board all go bad sooner or later, so replace them all ($5). Look for bulging tops especially, and the green ones are the worst. Power spike could have caused poor quality caps to fail. Don't want to fix it, sell it to me.

Cal I bye a new or referb power supply board?

If you can get a refurbished power supply board, buy it. They are as good as those new from factory. I bought a refurbished Sony Radio - Cassette - CD player 23 years ago and it's still good!

Scematic for sanyo r 227

You'll never get this from them, as others have tried. Sanyo is now Panasonic (Matsushita). Also sold under the Medion name (in Europe I think).

Sanyo r227 flashes when plugged in

Most likely bad capacitors on the power supply board. Replace them all (6 or 7). Same thing happened to mine. If you see green capacitors (KSC brand) they are definitely bad. Notorious for failing. Cost about $4 for me as I do it myself. Don't want to fix it yourself, sell it to me.

After return of a power outage, my R227 was rendered"dead", presumably because of voltage spike. Is there a fuse in the interior which might be open?

Yes there is. It is just inside the back cover on the right side looking from the back. It is located at the end of the brown wire from the power input jack. It has a plastic cover over it and is a T2AL 250 volt (2 amp slow blow) with pig tails on it.
