Frigidaire FAC127S1A Air Conditioner - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
What is the size of this unit
I think it's a 12,000 BTU.
nice direct say on it. I have this model number in my house.
If memory serves correctly it was 12000BTU on the box when i bought it.
I have it out in my garage, it still works after all these years..drips INSIDE the window now because the waterways under the unit were poorly engineered.. hard to access and too small, such that they CONSTANTLY getting plugged up like a dam, causing the tray to spill into the inside coming out the front of the unit.

I HAVE A WINDOW UNIT
Usually, recharging the compressor on a regular basis is not required. Does it seem like yours may need recharging? There are other things that can mimic low refrigerant gas in the compressor.
1. The filter needs cleaning or replacing.
2. The cooling coils and/or the cooling fins may need cleaning.
3. Unit is in a window that gets direct sunlight for 6 hours or more.
Recharging the compressor (depending on where you live) properly to EPA Standards can cost $100.00 or more.
Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks

How do I clean the condensation drain on my Fridgidaire fac127s1a?
Good Morning Friend,
I understand you want to know how to clean the condensation drain on your Frigidaire air conditioner, model# FAC127S1A. I see that the drain seems to be blocked, as water is collecting in the drain pan, and beginning to leak from the front. The drain hole is located beneath the compressor. You would have to get underneath that to clean the drain. You might want to try tilting your air conditioner slightly to the outside, to allow better water drainage. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.
-Best Regards-

Good Morning Friend,
I understand you want to know where the drain hole is on your Frigidaire air conditioner, model# FAC127S1A. I see that the drain seems to be blocked, as water is collecting in the drain pan, instead of draining. The drain hole is located beneath the compressor. You might want to try tilting your air conditioner slightly to the outside, to allow better water drainage. Hope this is helpful.

My air conditioner keeps shutting off and on
Hi Brittany - When was the last time the filter was clean? Restricted air flow from dirty air filter can caused air conditioner to turn on and off rapidly. Make sure there is nothing blocking the airflow to the unit like blinds, drapes, furniture, etc which could restrict air distribution. Outside condenser coil could possibly be blocked or dirty. Confirm that the condenser coil is clean and not restricted by any trees, bushes, etc. Verify that the plug is not damaged and try resetting the unit. If any proves to be ineffective, contact a professional to move forward accurately.

Error codes
Hello Ramona - Could the error code possibly be S or ES? If so, typically that indicates that there is a problem with the evaporator sensor. I would recommend contacting a professional to accurately diagnose and repair the air conditioner.

Need wiring digram
Some units the cord is actually detachable, if you don't think this one is, contact your manufacturer to see if they offer a replacement cord that you can purchase. Some do, some don't.

Control panel is not working
Does this unit have a remote? If so, try to use it, does it work then? If not, then the control board is most likely your culprit. If it does work, then possibly a button on the control panel is faulty.

Which setting of the vent
Thank you for choosing FixYa. The vent setting is for getting air from the outside. The Fresh Air setting takes the air from inside and turns it into, you guessed it, fresh air! Hope this helps :)
P.S. Choose fresh air.

Yes, we have a fridgidaire
If the water is leaking to the outside, that is normal. Especially if, the humidity is high outside.
If it's leaking to the inside. No, that's not normal and is due to improper installation. The rear of the unit should tilt down about 1/4" , to allow the water to drain outside via the drain pan hole.
To help you further, I have included a link to the Owner's Manual for your FAC127S1A model air conditioner. You can download and print it for future reference.

What kind of oil is
Ok. But first a little explanation.
The reason there is water in an air conditioner is because it both cools and dehumidifies the air. With that being said the air conditioner should be mounted and checked with a level. The unit should have a doward tilt showing 1/4 bubble.
There is a ring around the fan blade on the condenser side known as a slinger ring. The purpose is to pick up some of the conensate water and "Sling" against the condenser to help remove the heat making it more efficient.
Very rarely do you looses that much oil when putting a hole in the condenser. But if he wants to add oil 4G is for air conditioning, however the compressor will have to be removed and the oil poured out into a container so as to be measured.
Go to Techumseh Compressor web site and download their service manual as it shows other ways to do this as well as wiring diagrams, oil levels and other useful information.

Hi,
Just take the filter to the kitchen sink or the bathtub or utility sink if you have one....turn the filter with the dirt down and then just run water through it to clean it off...

The unit needs to be tilled toword the outside. If it is level it will dip inside. There should be very little water inside.
