did you set the float height correctly? It still might be flooding some also.

That sounds like it is running too lean. You may need some carb adjustments to account for your altitude.

Let it sit out and dry for a few days if that doesnt work wd 40 the hell out of the starter . If no resolve , replace.

Replace the starter relay

oppss ... you need factory service manual for cdi and other resistance specifications

remove screw or large hex head plug in bottom of carb..drain and replace screw or plug.. . A K&N must be clean, lightly "oiled",, and dry..

Could be a problem with a bad float that is overloading the engine with fuel. Does it take a little bit to "clear its throat" once you are on flat ground again?

the outside diameter (25) should be the same. the 8 and 10 is the width. 8 is prob too narrow to fit on a 10" wide rim. fyi, 12 is the rim diameter.

bowl float is stuck or the bowl gasket is bad

prob just need to replace it.

may hav worn ignition parts that are gittn hot--they gain resistence-test them with a ohm meter--clymer manual has procedure

sounds like your mixture was leaned out because ur filter was cloged up ...making it run rich so was adjusted by screwing air screw out, now uv cleaned it, adjust it to make mixture richer by screwing back in until runs smotherly
