After bookmarking the selected tracks and you are ready to copy them to the HDD, make sure the bookmark abbreviation is lit up in the display. All you have to do is press the bookmark button on the remote or on the recorder- after pressing "copy" but before pressing play.

The recorder could not care less what the upstream audio device IS or if it's live vs prerecorded as long as the connection works and there is a signal.

Your source may have a role to play in available volume being too low.

Page 84 describes Volume controls for both analog and digital inputs.

You don't really want to play chicken with 0 dB (all digital ones). Leave some headroom for unexpected peaks.

BTW: a digital copy of, say, a commercial CD with no volume modification will be at the optimal level that may meet but won't exceed the 0 dB level.

Try to use lens cleaner made by TDK or Scotch repeatedly, until lens cleaner can be run. Keep using lens cleaner until your player can run dvd disks. It maybe condensation, which take a while to dry off; running lens cleaner will heat up the circuits drive off moisture. When you cool down the player/recorder, run dvd disks.Repeat the lens cleaner again until disk can be used.

are you trying to upload to a pc/laptop? try one of these windows media, itunes,audacity or kantaris software?
any one of these free software would make recording simple..

make sure cd connection to pc is correct

If you live in a large area, try a google search for the yahoo group freecycle, If there is one in your area see if you can join and then ask if someone has one you can have or they will copy for you. Freecycle is a great group of people giving items and services away in their area.
