How to set channels for stations so they are locked to my stations

You can let the Yamaha HTR-5660 set stations for the FM band automatically. To manually set the station in one of the memory banks, first tune to the desired frequency (AM/FM band). Press Memory on the receiver. The memory light will flash for 5 seconds. Press the A/B/C/D/E to select the desired memory group while memory light is flashing. Make sure that you see the colon after the letter. Use the preset/tuning left right arrows to select the memory bank (1-8) to use in that group. This also needs to be done while the memory indicator is flashing. Press Memory to save the frequency in the desired memory location. If that memory group and bank had a station frequency stored in the location, it will be erased and the new one saved. If you do not finish the procedure before the Memory indicator stops flashing, you will have to repeat the steps. You can recall the stored stations from either the remote or the receiver by pressing the A/B/C/D/E button multiple times (as needed) and the preset/tuning buttons. On the receiver, the A/B/C/D/E button is also the Next button. On the remote, it's the Menu/Set Menu button. The steps for presetting stations is shown starting on page 33 of the manual, https://www.manualslib.com/manual/197490/Yamaha-Htr-5660.html?page=37#manual . The entire manual is available here: https://usa.yamaha.com/files/download/other_assets/3/319793/01_om_htr-5660.pdf . I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

Yamaha RX V1000 powers on fine but puts out no sound at all.

It sounds like the Yamaha RX V1000 is not properly outputting sound from the speakers. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the volume: Make sure the volume is turned up on the receiver and on the connected source (such as a TV or Blu-ray player).
  2. Check the speaker connections: Make sure the speaker wires are securely connected to the receiver and to the speakers. Double check that the speakers are connected to the correct terminals (positive to positive, negative to negative).
  3. Check the input/output settings: Make sure the receiver is set to the correct input and that the connected source is set to output sound. Also, check the Yamaha RX V1000's settings to ensure that the speakers are set to "on" and that the correct speakers are selected.
  4. Check the mute function: Make sure the mute function on the Yamaha RX V1000 is not activated.
  5. Check the amplifier section: Sometimes, the issue could be with the amplifier section of the receiver, which can be tested by a professional technician.
  6. Check the firmware: Make sure the firmware of the Yamaha RX V1000 is up to date, if not update it.
If none of these troubleshooting steps resolve the issue, it may be best to contact a qualified service technician to inspect and diagnose the problem. They may be able to troubleshoot the problem and make necessary repairs, or advise on replacement of certain parts if necessary.

How can I make my screen work?

There is normally a capacitor on the back of the display that may fail. They normally get dimmer until you can't see anything. Replacing it should fix it.

How do I reset the protection circuitry on Yamaha RX-A820?

press and hold the 'tone control' and 'info' buttons and press power. This will release the protect. The first thing that show on the display will be the protect code to tell you why it shut down. If it turns right back off, then you most likely have a short in the amp that will need to be repaired.

5650 Yamaha receiver I turn it on and it just turns back off by its self

That will be a safety feature. It's clearly suffering from an overload in either the power supply or audio output stages. Either take it in for a service, or look inside (with the power off) for damage to the amp. Check the devices attached to the heat sink.

Yamaha rx-v373 surround sound through HDMI ARC starts then stops. If I unplug HDMI and plug it in again, I get sound for 2 seconds then stops.

You cannot run HDMI from any source thru the Yamaha to the TV. The V661 is 1st generation HDMI headache. Version 1.1 which basically is useless. Don't blame Yamaha, it's not their fault, it's HDMI. All manufacturer's receivers prior to 09' series use either 1.1, 1.2, or 1.2a. and they all have issues. So, here's the skinny, run your audio to your receiver via optical or digital coaxial. Then run video directly to the TV via HDMI if you wish. The problem arises when you have more sources than inputs on your TV. Depending on the size of your TV can make a big difference in how you wire it. If your TV is 50" or smaller, just use component, the human eye cannot differentiate between 720p and 1080p and that's a fact. second fact, most TV shows are broadcast in a native resolution of 720p, the only real 1080p programming is on HDNET, Discovery,National Geographic and The NFL. What I mean by that is the camera used to take the actual picture is a 1080p camera. Major money! so, that being said, if your tv is larger than 50", and it's 1080p not 1080i yes, you can see a difference. If you post a comment and list all your product, I can give you the best possible way to put it all together. I feel your pain and aggrivation! I am a Yamaha, Marantz, Proceed, and Adcom Dealer. I get it from all sides! If there's anyway I can make it easier for you, I will. Hope this helps

My Yamaha receiver makes a clicking sound when I hit the power button but won't turn on

Hi, Please check that the cables are connected properly. And then you can check for any damage to any of the cables connected to your receiver. If still having issues, you can move your device to another power outlet and check if it will turn on with that power source. Thank you.
