People take electrical products between the 2 main voltages all the time.

To be able to isolate the problem, you gonna need to disconnect the power amp output transistor(pair) one at a time. :)

Check the speker wires could be shorting out to the cabinet. If you still have the problem remove one speaker at a time.

Probably a bad speaker or wires.

this is the 300 ohm adapter you need from radio shack and just install some small gauge speaker wire to it. or just splice the one that came with your receiver.

Hi. that's a really good price but, make sure it is not in protect mode and it actually works. Plug it up and test all channels for complete sound production.

If it passes the sound test and is not in protect mode, its a steal and i would purchase it.

Hi, Your receiver is really the same as my HTR 5240. Same back and front. basically. Go to Retrevo for manual. Shows all the hook ups. I have VCR , DVD, Tape Deck, hooked to mine but can't find the adapter so i can hook up my indoor fm antenna. All my components plug to back of receiver then there is one RCA wire running from receiver to Tv.

i have the same tuner.on the back you will see all connectors bottom row of rca jacks you will see subwoffer if your sub has to rca. red/white use a splitter monstor cable gold ..works best. i use Home Theater Reserch speakers... you can also plug your subs power plug into the tuner snd you never have to power it on seprate .........

Yes if it has a suitable speaker connection available and is nominally 8 ohms impedance Speaker and AV.

Being from 1985 or there abouts, it probably needs some TLC at a Yamaha service centre. May need new capacitors and resolder dry joints for age related issues.

WD-40 ... Very dangerous as it not only flammable when wet but is bad for electrical contacts as it leaves a residue behind that does not conduct electricity very well. Check speaker connections first.

(francais) hello in my issue the probleme was a little resistor r027 it's in this red zone and very ugly. easy to find. a friend was unsolded the resistor and weld a little wire after wash with isopropanole alcool. the resistor test the tension when we plug usb thing. less the resistor the usb ports don't work. you can buy r027 for 2 euros for 100 pieces.... or 2 euros for 5 10 pieces (funny).
