You should check the manual of your alarm system. there is some settings for silence. lets say if u press to buttons on your remote and hold it for a little wile it might get the sound but if its factory alarm system than might its originaly without sound. but no worries any way if any one will try to brak into your car it will start to scream

Smart Start not working?! Was the unit tested for signal strength and proper operation after installation? If so, and the unit works, did you receive confirmation from Directed Electronics with a link to set up your account? Did you activate your account with Directed Electronics? After activating, did you download the app through your phone? If you have done all of the above and the Smart Start still does not work, your next contact should be made with Directed Electronics and the installer. **Please Note** Downloading the app without activating unit does nothing. Installing the unit without following the setup and test procedure does nothing.

It sounds to me like your app has an update available. If you have an iPhone this is a normal occurance. iPhone and iPad frequently get update available reminders. Go to the app store and sign in. It should show all available app updates. At this point, click on update all or, update only the ones you want.

I downloaded and checked the user and installation guide and neither say anything about what the codes are. I guess they want to charge you to tell you what is wrong. It is possible the code is being thrown by the remote starter itself but without the model number I can't tell you what the code means. If you still have the user guide for the remote starter or can download it, it should tell you what the code is.
