Start off by calling the shop that installed it, ask them just because you can. Now a more useful answer- check the remote's surface and be certain nothing sticky is on its surface and whether or not it's possible for something sticky like a drink or kool aid from one of the kids, etc. this happens often and causes sticking amongst other issues. If it looks good, go ahead and replace the battery in the remote, probably a CR2032 or similar but you'll have to consult your manual or look online for a manual that is compatible with your particular model of Viper Remote Start/Alarm. Worst Case- maybe you'll need a remote but they're inexpensive on eBay. If it was professionally installed, take it to them and tell them the issue, they'll tell you what's going on. If it wasn't, you might double check the wiring while looking at installation instructions and a wiring diagram that are specific to your model- if you're it comfortable doing this ask friends/family, etc. if they cannot check(only if they're qualified) or if they can recommend anyone to help, just do your research and talk to a few people/shops before making any decisions on who you'll let work on it to be certain they're qualified. A respected Automotive Accessorry Shop, or a High End Electronics Store that provides installation is better than a typical garage for something like this since they specialize in stuff like this and install these systems all day/every day, they see these issues all the time and it's more than likely an easy fix! I would sit in car and attempt to use remote start. Listen for relays and/or alarm brain to click. It could as simple as the remote start relay.

It sounds like your alarm was put in silent mode. You can check your alarm user book to reset your alarm mode. Also you can google your alarm model and it should direct you to a DYI alarm reset videos. GL

Assuming that all is well with the vehicle's electrical system (fuses, etc...), the following should work, as Viper/Clifford uses the "fail safe" method of starter disable, and it only works to lock out the starter when the alarm is functioning properly and in the armed state.

That system has a "starter kill" system. When the alarm is actived, the starter kill is engages, and won't let the starter get voltage from the ignition switch. First thing I'd try is connecting the car's battery while the ignition key is turned to the "on/run" position. Cycle the alarm to arm, then disarm, so that the LED is not blinking. It also may require using the manual override button/switch (with the key on) to reset the alarm. Should start after that.

If all else fails, reconnecting the starter wires back together (they are spliced and running through the alarm via a SPDT relay.

you will need to look at the control module under the driver dash for the model number of the remote start. Visit directed,com and find the manual for your unit. follow steps for changing whatever features you like. ..or visit a local aftermarket auto shop who sells remote starters. any decent shop should be able to get it done in a half hour or so.
