B&W ASW1000 Speaker Questions & Answers
Bass speaker moving in out more then normal
If you can't hear the difference maybe the bass frequency which is moving the speakers is below your hearing range.
I think you may have a "loudness" button on that amp -- if you do, turn off the loudness -- this is a bass booster.
But, in general, bass speakers are designed to move in & out a lot. They have to move a lot of air to produce the bass sound.
My ASW 1000 subwoofer is
bad audio cable/connection, or if it is a powered subwoofer, the amp may have a popped capacitor.

Look to the source. If your antenna-like body can produce an output the amp and speakers are sort of working. BTW: nice trick.
Prove your preamp is putting something out to it. Maybe name it and we can chime in with specifics.

There should be another solder point next to the wire that is connected to the speaker.
These types of connections are side-by-side in most applications.

Hi
I did not understand fully why you set the service to manul?
If you must have it manual then you have to find some workaaround solution .
there are two slutions i can think of :
1. create script that run as scheduale task every x minutes the script will check if oracle instance is down and if is down and no backup running at the moment will restart it .
2. whenever instance is down the schedule task that check if instance is up or not will send you some kind of alert (email, SMS) and you will decide if you want to bring the db back up .
hope it helps
Good Luck
Sub kicking out full volume bass for no reason
it's you power from the battery/alternator, it's not supplying enough power to kick it on, if you turn the volume down you'll notice that it'll stay on. You may need to re adjust the settings on your amp or get a bigger alternator, maybe even install a second battery.
How to test your speaker
Check sub buy pushing cone in gently if you hear or feel a rasping sound the sub is blown,if not check for a fuse where the power cable goes in as this may need replaced. Also make sure you have the sub plugged into the sub pre out and not the six channel input.
PS did switch on the sub in the speaker set up in the menu?
hope this helps.

Hi
ive got a b&w as2
Are you running this subwoofer via an LFE (RCA line level) connection, or via high level (speaker lines in and out of the subwoofer)? There may be different ways to hook up this unit and it would be helpful to know how you have the unit connected. Thanks!
