Can I bypass the control box on the ef 2400is and just run it at a high engine speed the control box is dead and is worth more than the generator so it's pretty much a throw away

The "control unit" is the rectifier/inverter. The alternator side is 3 phase (volts and frequency IDK), but the answer would be no.

Are there parts numbers for Yamaha EF2400is Twin Tech parallel ports? Mine are worn out and need to order new ones, but my owners manual shows nothing. Thank you.

The design of principles of diesel generator parallel system The design of parallel optimization system for diesel generator sets adopts a parallel machine scheme with load distribution function for parallel machine monitoring system and parallel cabinet, it can be better to apply to large-scale parallel systems. We can accord to different requirement, for example, if apply to start-up of large power generator, the system can provide pre-start to meet the requirements. Aiming at the strong, weak and electromagnetic interference problems in parallel system, the design should use software filter and hardware filter to solve the problem. Adopt CAN bus methods to compare the digital quantities to achieve more effective active power allocation, this can avoid adverse effect to active power distribution by voltage loss in voltage load distributor.Aiming at different generator types to design and ensure reactive power distribution form. Aiming at the generator that uses AVR pressure regulating template, its reactive power distribution adopts software programming to increase voltage feedback to offset the adverse effects of temperature drift. In order to avoid impact on generator. In the parallel system, a zero power conversion design scheme is provided, that is, automatic synchronization between genset, zero power working for newly added genset, and then load transfer and average distribution are carried out smoothly according to the setting.

Generator will only run on choke

Most likely, the carburetor needs cleaning. There are two main jets powering your Yamaha, the pilot, or sometimes called the idle jet, and the main jet. If the pilot jet is clogged, the main jet will take on the load, and the governor will modulate the carburetor to keep it running, causing the surging problem. Likely, the problem is less, or even nonexistent if the choke is on, or the generator is under load. Search the web for help on cleaning this pilot/idle jet.

Does not generate power

If your generator cannot run normally, please follow the guide in this article to solve your problem. If diesel generators fail to start, you can analyze the causes from fuel system failure, electric starting system failure, insufficient compression pressure in the cylinder and the low ambient temperature and other factors. https://www.dieselgeneratortech.com/diesel-generators/why-diesel-generator-fail-to-start.html

I have a EF2400is yamaha gen that was surging on start up,that problem is solved now, but now when a load is put on unit it will die

how was the problem solved surging indicates that the spring on the governor rod to the carby was broken at one end now the indication is that the governor is not opening up the carby butterfly when load is applied and that comes back to how the surge problem was fixed in the first place

Problem with a ef1000 generator

I purchased a Propane Generator from Central Maine Diesel a few years ago. 20 HP Honda engine, Italian generator head. Paid about $2300 plus shipping via Paradise Freight which was a few hundred. I see the price is just a bit higher now... But the one I want most is Yuchai which i saw from a website. Recently it blew a capacitor. Central Maine sent me 2 for the price of one even though it is out of warranty. $39 total for two. I looked at generators on island but a similar Honda at Quality electric was close to $6000 and it wasn't even a 13750kw. More like 8 or 9000kw if I remember right..... They have many generators at great prices but this is the one I settled for. However, it is said that the Cummins generator is more popular than others. Yamaha 2400IS Generator goes to overload when ie: 240 volt plugged in, or 700 watt angle grinder plugged in.

No idea but somebody else will probably come along with a better idea then mine, seems a lot of these generators have this thing installed on them (Has $25 hard start kit). Not sure what it does or how it works. Strangely enough you said you use it for 240 volt. Looked at the picture and didn't see a 240 volt connection. If you are using the what look like the 120 volt circuits you can't over load the unit. Maximum current draw will cause it to go into protection mode and shut down the power load. The following is an exert from the owners manual which I got from Yamaha's site. Link at the end of this post. Hope this helps - 16 - q 760-029 AE00788 Overload indicator light The overload indicator light 1 comes on when an over- load of a connected electrical device is detected, the inverter control unit overheats, or the AC output voltage rises. The electronic breaker will then activate, stopping power generation in order to protect the generator and any connected electric devices. The AC pilot light (green) will go off and the overload indicator light (red) will stay on, but the engine will not stop running. When the overload indicator light comes on and power generation stops, proceed as follows: 1. Turn off any connected electric devices and stop the engine. 2. Reduce the total wattage of connected electric devices within the application range. 3. Check for blockages in the cooling air inlet and around the control unit. If any blockages are found, remove. 4. After checking, restart the engine. http://www.yamahamotorsports.com/assets/service/manuals/0/LIT-19626-01-23_1423.pdf

Engine ether idles or overrevs

Check the governor mechanism or have a shop check it. It should rev up under load but if its doing it randomly then check the governor.

Goes into overload and shuts down

Not very much information in your problem troy but you might be drawing more amps than your producing. I had bought a nice little Craftsman electric tire pump but my Yamaha kept dying. After reading the labels, my 2400IS puts out 15 amps and my tire pump needed 18 amps, my friend now has a nice tire pump for his home use. I've seen post that RVers have to add the "booster" kit to start their air conditioners, extra power is needed to start them after that the 2400 can run them. Just a thought, try reading the metal tag on what your trying to run and see how many amps it needs. Anything over 15 will shut you down and some will need that extra "boost" to get them started. I seem to think I read somewhere that it is about $75.00 for the Yamaha booster kit.
