Could be several causes, BUT... failing bearings from not enough oil added to gas is the first thing that comes to mind..

May have run out of gas, or one of the safety switches is out of adjustment and shut the mower down.

If your oil level is okay, meaning it's not to full, Check your spark plug to see if it has oil on it. If it does, you may have some cracked rings on the piston. This would allow air to be forced into the crankcase and blow oil out.

check make sure blade brake kill is not engaged causing no fire

Does it 'BOG' down when attempting to engage blades?

Best blades to use would be gator blades from orgegon.
