How do adjust for Speed stability on Lawn-Boy mower. It hunts up and down.

Speed control for motor is controlled by an automatic governor, so there isn't any adjustments. Surging is caused by an air leak. Has the air filter been changed? Spray card cleaner around that side of the engine to find the air leak. Does it have a choke adjustment? Make and model would be handy in answering this question!

Have a self-starting, self propelled toro lawn mower about 5 years old, I ran it out of gas by accident & now it won't start

It seems to be an obstruction in your fuel delivery system. Get a can of ether and a spray a short burst of it into the breather area near the carburetor, if the mower starts up and then stalls out, then you may need to get your carburetor serviced.

Fold down handle to fit in car

Down behind the back wheels should be knobs on each side for folding. The handle will fold down on either side of the mower on top of the deck. var geo_Partner = '1890d1e7-e721-4f9c-b474-1a19eda23e94'; var geo_isCG = true;

Toro self-propelled lawn mower: throttle

Yes it makes sense. I was working on a throttleless one and it would not come up to speed, I had hooked it up to the wrong side of the shaft, or conceptually, the pivot point. It was doing the opposite of what it should have. I suggest taking a really close look at the attachment piece looking for wear or rub marks to indicate which hole it should be in.

I hope this gets you going.

Mower starts and runs but

Sounds like maybe the choke is stuck closed. If you remove the air filter the choke is the first butterfly valve you can see. The throttle looks similar but is a inch or so deeper into the carb, and you can't see that unless the choke is open. Try removing the air filter and starting the mower. It might run just a little better without the air filter since it will get a bit more air, but if the choke is stuck it still won't run right. But you will be able to see if that's the problem right off. If it runs great without the air filter, and the choke is not stuck, then the problem is a clogged air filter and you need to replace it. Good luck, Al K

I have a self-propelled walk

I would probably take it back to where I bought it to begin with. But, I have an old Huskavara mower self propelled, at times if I set it on top of two 4 x 6 blocks (6 inches up) I have to take off the wheels and clean up the axles using thinner, degreaser, or gas, anything to break down oil or dirt. Then I oil the surfaces and reassemble, and the wheels work for a while.

The self propeller is messed up. It sounds

On this mower it will probably need a new transmission assembly. If you replace the gears you may still have problems. The transmissions on the Toro product line, before 2009 have a bad tendency to go out. If the unit is still under warranty I would take it in and get it replaced. If you decide to do the work yourself it will take a while. If you provide a model number in the add comments section I can get you a parts breakdown, and maybe a parts manual for your model. Also if you get a new transmission assembly, take the four bolts off of the bottom and add grease yourself. We use high temp grease in the transmissions. Add the grease until the box is full then put the bolts back in. This will help it to stay working longer. Depending on which transmission you need, the price of an assembly is somewhere between 65 and 75 dollars. I've seen some of them go for over 100. It just depends on which one you need. I hope this helps.

My lawnboy lawn mower Runs Rough & Will Not

Your keyway might be cut. The keyway is the timing of your motor. If its cut, the motor will either run rough or not at all. If keyway is ok, check your blade for balance. Take blade off machine, hang on a nail straight across, if it tips either way, its out of balance. Have it rebalanced or replaced.

Toro CCR 2450 Snowblower has new plug & gas but will only start with added starter fluid then will run until trying to start again.

Question edited for clarity. When you put it away at the end of last snow season, I expect you just rolled it to the corner of the garage and left it until now? The two stroke gas in the carburetor, went bad and gummy. It starts on starter fluid because no gas is coming from the carb. https://www.google.com/search?q=toro+ccr+2450+carburetor+cleaning ..

We have a Toro Powervac that will not start. Vac has a new carburetor, new engine coil, new fuel lines, new spark plug and still will not start. Any suggestions?

did you make sure it has spark. i have learned over the years because an electronic is new doesn't mean its good? If it has spark remove the plug and put a bit of gas in the hole and re install plug see if it will fire on that gas. if it does its the carb something is probably blocking fuel. check the compression if its low compression it will not run. if u dont have a compression checker just remove the plug stick your finger tight over the plug hole and pull it over it should blow your finger off the hole.
