Release the tensioner ,make sure you have a diagram written of the way the belt run and check idler pullies for noisy bearings , slide old belt off and new one on release tensioner.

I had a similar issue in my 2001 grand am. Turned out the power steering pump pulley was not properly seated on the shaft, causing the pulley to be slightly out of line of the other pulleys. It was hard for me to see it, that's how miniscule it was. Bottom line is I would do a thorough check of all the pulleys in the serpentine line first for any visible damage. If all seems ok on that front, I'd take the vehicle to a repair shop to make sure all of the pulleys are in alignment. If one, for example the power steering pump pulley is out of line, not only will it continue to tear up belts, but could potentially damage the power steering pump as well. Hope this helps!

Under the hood on a lot of models is a paper with the belt routing, if this is no longer there your local ibrary normally has a good selection of repair manuals on hand.

There should be a digram under the hood, on the bracket near the radiator, or on the under side of the hood it self showing the route of direction for replacement. You will also need a special tool you can rent from Auto Zone to loosen the tensioner.

There should be a small nut in the center of the tensioner and you need a Special Tool to get to it. You can rent the tool at your nearest Auto Zone or other part store and that should solve your problem.

If you call the parts house where you purchased the belt they can provide you with a routing diagram for your vehicle based on make model year engine and options. My local parts house is very helpful and will fax or email it nearly immediately. I think this is normal good service
