Take off the line from the fuel pump to the carb and see if the pump is actually working. The priming comes auto when pumping the gas pedal.

Follow the wires with a volt meter from battery to gas pedal switch to solenoid. Sounds like a bad micro switch , wire, or bad solenoid.

See if the spark plug is firing. If not then you looking at ignition coil or a ground being where it's not supposed to be. If it is firing then look at fuel pump, carb, air hose.

First thing I would do is to load test each battery.

Have to look up a chart on the web to get the year using your serial number.

With the rear lifted off the ground, cart in neutral, tires can be rotated by hand.

Sorry to tell you this but the 08 has a problem with the gears in the differential wearing slack in them. As long as they are engaged- no noise- but let up on the gas and you get gear noise.

Sounds like the controller is detecting a error and shutting down the speed. I would have to connect a test set (iqdm) to see maybe what the error code is.

Is this an ezgo golf cart? If it is then your brake drum is stripped. It has splines that mate with the axle shaft.

The key should turn everything off except for the reverse buzzer. In forward position it should turn off.

Do you mean that it changes speed? If so it could be a speed sensor that is mounted on the end of the motor. Depending on your model year it also could be the throttle (mcor).

Would help to know what kind of golf cart it is. And the model year.

I am guessing you have a 6 pin controller(only 4 wires are used). The white and black wires are the throttle coming from the ITS in the floorboard. You either have a wiring error, controller bad, ITS is bad or the gas pedal plunger going into the ITS is all the way in already.

You load tested each battery? Can't be bad if cart runs good.

Have to remove the body

You may have a weak spark or overly rich fuel mixture; your mixture should be 32:1 doing break-in period and then normally 128:1 if you running a richer (more oil) your engine will run lean and be hot thus the spark plug will be dark/black and if running too hot will melt the electrodes or burn a hole in the piston.

I don't know how to check that controller, I always check everything else then replace the controller. I start by checking to see if the solenoid is working and the reverse buzzer. If they are then I check the motor. You have to disconnect the main batteries then disconnect the four wires off the motor. Take a jumper wire and connect to A1 and F1 then to 16 volts. Another jumper wire will connect to A2 and F2 then to16 volts. One should be negative and the other positive. In this setup we are applying the same voltage to both coils of the motor at the same time. If the motor turns it's good.
