All new batteries but cart does not have a lot of power. What to check next

Hi, Check for dirt & corrosion at the battery cable contacts. Check for damaged power cables. Check for loose contacts everywhere, but particularly around the main isolator switch. Check that the drive motor is clean, dry & free from dirt, grease & gunk. After that you're probably looking at issues within the control-module & that will most likely be a job for a golf-cart specialist. Best of luck.

Battery check with voltage meter on ezgo golf carts

Not sure if you're asking a question or just making a statement, however a voltage check alone will not indicate overall battery condition or health. You need to have a load test performed on the individual batteries in order to determine overall charging system health. Try this resource: How to Check Golf Cart for Bad Batteries Get yourself a load tester similar to this: Amazon com Schumacher BT 100 100 amp Battery Load Tester Automotive

I recently aquired a fairplay golf cart through trade that didn't come with batteries, i bought the batteries and im having trouble figuring out how to connect them because I don't see a negitive cabl

Negative of the battery usually connects to the metal frame of the vehicle, just like in the cars.

Why won't my electric club golf cart run? It makes a noise when I put it in drive or reverse & it won't move. I added some water & charged it & it seemed like it was doing fine until it shortly died.

Ok, first I hope u are putting distilled water in the battery, not just any water. Should not overfill it either. Looks like the electrolite ( sulfuric acid) in your golf cart had been diluted to the point where it doesn’t hold a charge. Also when u wipe all that stuff around the battery please wear gloves and safety goggles. Looks like u might need a new battery for your cart. Good luck!

Charging Yamaha Golf Cart batteries, charger runs ok 2-3 Hrs then cuts out with abnormal cycle and incomplete lights staying on. What is the problem.

Could be one or more of your batteries going bad. When is the last time you had the battery system load checked? Water level in all batteries (unless they're sealed) should be checked, as should all the cables for corrosion, tightness, etc. Anyway, it certainly sounds like a battery related issue.

Electric club golf cart has an odor when driving and runs extremely slow

If the smell is a burning smell, be very careful, a fire could start. If the smell is chemical, but very careful, a battery could explode. That said, check your electrical connections and your voltage. If you don't know how to do this, call a friend or take it to a shop. The speed control, the wiring and the batteries can all cause what you describe. One more thought, a dragging brake could also cause this problem. Things to consider: When did the problem start? What happened or changed at that time? When was the last time it ran right? Here's a link to brake adjustment info: Dragging brakes

Lights not working on Star golf cart. Fuse is good. How do I check switch?

Buy or borrow a voltmeter, check the voltage across the batteries, the light bulbs, and the switch open and closed. The full battery nameplate voltage should appear across the battery, and across the light bulbs when the switch is closed, and across the switch when the switch is open. If these are not true, you need to look for breaks in the circuit. To do that, turn the switch on, check the volts across the battery, keep the negative connected to the battery, but disconnect the positive voltmeter wire from the battery, check the voltage on both sides of the switch, if they each match the battery voltage, move on to checking the voltage on each side of the light bulb. If one side of the bulb matches the battery voltage and the other side is zero the bulb should light. If not Change the light bulb. If both sides of the bulb match the battery voltage, then there's a break in the wires between the bulb and the negative side of the battery. Now going back to the switch situation: with the voltmeter negative still connected to the negative of the battery, if one side of the switch matches the battery and the other side of the switch is zero, either the switch is off or broken. Turn the switch on and off a number of times measuring the two voltages each time. If you can't get both sides of the switch to match the battery, the switch is broken, replace it. Good Luck GooseBay_Camper.

My golf cart has six, 6 volt batteries connected in a chain, positive to negative throughout. Can I connect an auxiliary light of some type to this power source?

the cart is wired for 36 volts operation so you would need a 36 volt bulb or you could put the wiring for a 12 volt bub across the terminals of 2 batteries so the negative wire will be on a negative terminal of the first battery and a fused positive wire will be on the positive of the second battery the batteries are connected in series so the sum total of the voltage is the sum of all of the batteries by selecting 2 batteries in series you are using the sum voltage of 2 batteries

I have a 2010 yamaha golf cart, has brand new batteries, and the batteries drain by nine holes,is it the voltage regulator? or something else

Make sure the batteries are fully charged. if your cart has it's own charger it may not fully charge. I would purchase a portable one and make sure they fully charge then you would know whether the cart charger is working.

With new batteries in a golf cart, what is wrong when you plug in the battery charger, it clicks, but does not charge?

Those chargers sense the battery condition and polarity. Check and make sure that the cables are in good condition and they are connected to the proper terminals.

Ezgo 36 volt buggy i have 2 one in good running order other one not going now solenoid not clicking have swwapped solenoid and controller to good running cart and it works problem cart still problem

Hope it's fixed by now. If the solenoid is not clicking then one of your switches is bad or wiring. Check the key switch, forward/ reverse micro switch, and the switch in the floorboard that is connected to the gas pedal.

Cart wont move just hums was working ? 85 Ezgo 36 volt

If all wiring is factory then check batteries under load. If all good then test motor. With rear wheels off the ground, disconnect the main pos and neg wires from the batteries. Then disconnect the four wires from the motor. You can use a voltmeter to measure the value of the two coils of the motor. Measure between A1 and A2 then S1 and S2 ( sometimes F1 and F2) Should get 1 or 2 ohms. If that good then jumper A1 to F1, connect A2 to 12 volts and F2 to 12 volts, one neg and the other pos. You will get a spark but the motor should start turning if good.
